CameraGeek 0 #1 August 6, 2002 Okay - its there! I just got off the phone with a good friend in manifest at the WFFC - the C-130 is there, flying loads. It will be there through the end of the day Thursday. Folks - if you have a chance - go jump the Hercules! Its a RARE (!!!!) chance and an awesome experience - it rivals the jet. I mean that! In 17 years I have had exactly TWO opportunites to jump a C-130 - they are not around for 'public consumption' often! Funny - the front page of freefall dot com no longer mentions the jet, either....??? Robbie Culver

kallend 2,146 #3 August 6, 2002 Hi Robbie, Did your friend give any indication of what's going on besides the C130 jumps? The web-cams make the place look deserted! I was going to Rantoul today but after looking at the web-cam I decided to go to work instead since it seemed more exciting!!! John K.

PhreeZone 20 #5 August 11, 2002 The Herc was filling for a sunset load as I was leaving today. The staff decided to do a discounted rate for the last C-130 jump this year and that made it fill pretty fast. She was a great plane to jump from. I did a 3 way with Clay and Rhino and it was way coll looking at the 4 props spinning and leaving contrails in freefall.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Robbie Culver Actually, in Sweden you can jump from Hercules every second year. Jump prizes are only $20. http://www.herculesboogie.com/ BI----------------------------------------
PhillyKev 0 #7 August 12, 2002 Jumped it twice. Pretty cool...a little cramped and hot though. Was in it while it did the flyby formation with the Mig, Pitts, and Heli. Jumped out, tracked on my back and looked at the sea of people pouring out and the Mig on its wing. Very cool. Except at pull time, track, barrel roll...oh crap, 3 people over me....track more, barrel roll...oh crap 2 other people over me...track more....dump at 1800'
