billvon 3,094 #1 August 10, 2002 About five years ago, our demo team (Skydiving Innovations) did a demo at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. It involved fireworks, radio controlled strobes, smoke, and a night jump into a stadium. It went off almost without a hitch. Afterwards, of course, we went to a bar and sat around talking with some of the radio personalities they had at the event. The topic of going in came up (of course.) I'm not sure if it was Harry who said it or not, but the general consensus was "Hey, if I ever go in, get some beer and have a party or something, and drink a toast." Harry O'Connor died during the filming of XXX, in a stunt that involved parasailing down a river. If you go to see this movie, smuggle a beer or two in, and drink a toast to an old friend of mine when you see his stunt. I think he'd appreciate it. quade 4 #4 August 10, 2002 I -just- got home from seeing it tonight. The film is dedicated to Harry, and it's every bit as good as Harry would have wanted it to be. Everyone that worked on the stunt crew should be very proud.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Shark 0 #5 August 10, 2002 I had the pleasure of jumping with him on a big way last year. Very cool guy, even though we didn't talk much since he was on the other side of the formation during the dirt dives. I will be at the "Q" on Saturday for the football game. The Navy team is doing the demo before kick-off. I'm buying the next round... BSBD Shark

ltdiver 3 #7 August 10, 2002 QuoteThe film is dedicated to Harry, After hearing what an incredible man Harry was, and seeing all the love between his friends during the memorial skydives at Perris, this is very fitting. Glad to know the entertainment industry feels the same. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

steve1 5 #10 August 10, 2002 Bill, Glad you're back. The owner of our DZ is still bummed out by Harry's death. He jumped with Harry going back almost 30 years including some World Championship teams. I'll pass on to him what you said. Maybe it will help. Steve1
