dz.com tent at rantoul

Recommended Posts

Jceman, thanks again for getting the dz.com tent for Rantoul. And to everyone that used and hung out in the tent, did you donate any money to Jack? Remember that he used his own money to get that tent for us and i know only a few people gave Jack jump tickets or cash for his generosity. Sooo, if you used the tent you might wanna PM Jack and get some mailing information or paypal info and send him a "donation".

I second that. It was a good packing area, place for Lisa to sleep and all-around good meeting place.

I didn't, but I did buy those two cases of beer . . . I hope Jack got some.

I second all of the above. Here's another, more public hug from me for Jack and Lynn for making it happen for all of us, and for letting me "provide night time security".

But next year, I'm taking one of those rooms in the old barracks instead... there's just something about flush toilets and a non-public shower. :D

Oh, and should you find yourself sleeping there next year, I strongly recommend turning the lights off before going to sleep. I was supposed to jump the helicopter and the biplane on Saturday, so I tried to crash out early Friday night. I forgot to turn them off. Woke up about 1 am to find 5 people I didn't really know partying in the tent. Hung out with them til they left, then went back to sleep. Woke up about 2:30 am to find 5 people I didn't know at all partying in the tent. Asked them nicely to leave, then a few more walked in. I ended up giving up on sleep and partying with them instead. Finally turned the lights out about 4:30 am. Was too tired to jump anything on Saturday, but I did meet, hang out with and partied with 14 jumpers I hadn't met before. B|

Thanks Jack!!! The tent was a great idea. Can't wait to do it again next year. It was nice to meet and jump with you. Too bad our hybrid attempt didn't go better. I know Brian Germain got to dock but chasing you guys was just a bit more than my skill level could handle....;) Lets try and get a more stable hanger next time.....:D You guys take care and may we have many more jumps in the future.

Mental notes on the tent for next year... decide ahead of time what items people need to bring such as power strips, cords, lights, fans, tarps, etc. We also need a new security officer, one that can keep things quiet all day and night for those sleeping or wanting to sleep. Dedicated parking spots for the golfcarts would be a good idea too as would be snaging camping slots around the tent...

Agreed. It's quite obvious i suck as a security guard....though Rhino seemed rather good at it. Clay was definately the best fly patrol person. And next year i'll bring a bigger white board.

ROFLMAO!!! omg... Ah well, coulda been worse - I could've been attacked by the roving band of nail polish/marker/camera carrying passed out/sleeping person hunters...

HOW could that possibly be comfortable?

It wasn't. But when you're as wiped out as I was, comfortable doesn't matter much. :S
