PhreeZone 20 #1 August 15, 2002 Alright.. we've heard all these great stories about WFFC... its time for the Summerfest people to speak up. What was the boogie like? diverdriver 7 #2 August 15, 2002 Well, I don't know how many total registered for Summerfest. My guess is that the number was down from last year. Hard to say since I was not there the whole time due to illness and the fact that I was in the airplane much of the time that I was there. Not a single injury. Roger was talking with me on one flight on Sunday and I asked what he thought of SummerFest. First thing he said was that no one had been injured. Couldn't even think of one sprained ankle. We were both very happy about that. Then he said that we had done about a months worth of jumping in a week's time. That's also cool. Max Meijer did some very nice RW organizing. I got to be on 3 multi-point 22 ways. That is just so cool. The FreeFly area was really busling but honestly I can't tell you what happened in all the activity. I saw a lot of smiles, short lift lines and four Super Otters. Chef Tim did a dinner out at the double deck EVERY night that was oh so awesome. Any restaraunt you go to the dinners would have been $25 a plate. I think the most expensive dinner was 10 bucks. Helped with the fallrate definitely. I saw a lot more canopy discipline this year over last. The stress level was way down. I was very happy as a jumper and pilot.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
freeflir29 0 #3 August 15, 2002 We decided someone should make a shirt..."I jumped at Skydive Chicago and didn't die!!!" Since all the unfair press lately. If you can't beat em.....screw em!!!

rapper4mpi 0 #8 August 16, 2002 I was there from the first Sunday until the following Friday. The dropzone was amazing, fun things to do everynight. It has to be the most comfortable DZ IO had ever been to. On the freeflying front, they comepleted a 20 way head-down on the first attempt, but didn't hold it long enough for the record. There were also several 2 point 10-ways going on. The planes were fast, the skies were safe, and everyone was so friendly. I never had to leave the DZ all week. The weather was incredible and on the first day when it was too hot for this Northeasterner, I sat in the lake-sized pond most of the day! I will be back next year for sure. -Rap
