prepheckt 0 #1 August 21, 2002 Hey I was wondering for those of you who wear glasses, do you wear contacts with regular sunglasses to jump or do you wear perscription sunglasses? I have a pair of Oakley sunglasses, but it's kind of a pain to wear them, because they aren't perscription. If I do get a pair of perscription Oakley's I'm worried about losing them in freefall not to mention the fact of trying to land with uncorrectived vision. Normal sunglasses would be cheaper....Thanks for the help in advance... blue ones"Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
Viking 0 #2 August 21, 2002 somthing i have seen alot people do is wear crokeies(sp) on there glasses under there helmet. If you were a fullface that would seem like overkill. Even with all that i would be VERY nervous about taking a $500-$600 pair of shades jumping.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin

AggieDave 6 #4 August 21, 2002 <----Lost his nice pair of Oakley's at 5k 4 weeks ago. I have an idea where they are, in about a 100 yard square area, although it is very tall grass...I keep meaning to go look for them, just for the hell of it. Eitherway I wasn't really happy about loosing my Oakleys, even though through some connections I had only paid $40 to have them ordered from the factory, still, they're gone and if I want another pair like them I'm going to have to pay full price this time ($130ish). I'm going to stick to my $10 goggles for now, thank you. (edited due to typo)--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." skydiverbrian 0 #5 August 21, 2002 I have prescription Oakleys, but I don't jump in them. I jump with my God-given vision, flawed as it is. I was worried when I first started doing it, but I'm nearsighted, so the last 30-50 feet of final look clear to me anyway. hohonukai 0 #6 August 21, 2002 I wear contacts with shaded goggles. It's easier than wearing glasses and goggles over them. Those disposable contacts rock, imho. You got me all misty-eyed! - Scent of a Woman
SkydiveMonkey 0 #7 August 21, 2002 I have normal glasses that go darker the brighter it is. I also have a normal pair of sunglasses for when I have my contacts in (damn visor on the z1 )____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
