The first thing I learned. Officers are NEVER supposed to give Enlisted guys check rides according to the regs.... I also learned that my supervisor....while being a great teacher....had done a fine job teaching me to control an airstrike in a combat situation. What he hadn't done is to teach me how to pass a check ride. I learned the difference the hard way. I went by the crazy assumption that results were what was measured. For me...Bombs on target. My lesson was that check rides are made up of subjective attitudes and lists with little boxes that must be checked....

It's a shitty thing but if you stick around aviation long enough this won't be the last asshole you run into. Probably won't even take that long... If you learn from this you'll be that much better off next time. Trust me...my Dad flew as a commercial pilot with Delta for 38 years. He has just a couple stories about DE's.... goose491 0 #29 August 21, 2002 Carrie, I did my flight training at a government subsidized flight school which shall remain nameless and man were the instructors ever full of themselves! Relax, I can't stress it enough... Relax. If you're in a breifing room with this guy, and getting tense, close your eyes and take a deep breath (do it right in front of him) One thing that helps... particullarly on prog rides if you're nervous, is to tell yourself that you are paying for this!!! In fact, you are providing this guys paycheck! If you think he's being a jerk, it is very important you address the issues on the ground... Go to him one day when you are not sheduled to fly together and tell him how you feel... It is also important that you not be threatening. Quade is right in telling you to document. However, I would add that you be weary about leading the revolution. Aviation is a smaaaaaalll world and if you are looking for a career in this field, the sad truth is that you are going to have to put up with all sorts of "people" Anyway, stick with! it and know you're shit! Just relax and do your thing. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
