How do I sell this idea to my family?

Recommended Posts

I am going to Perris Labor Day weekend. My wife doesn't know this yet. She is going with me, and we're bringing the 6 year old twins.

I'm psyching myself up that this is a great family getaway. 6 hours in the car there, me skydiving with all the DZ.commers, evening drunkeness. Maybe a day at Disneyland or Magic Mountain, 6 hours back.

Wow. It sounds great to me, but I'm open to suggestions on how to best package this great deal for her.

Honey! Look at Sebazz's boobs!

She must be a great woman if she's going to want to drive 6 hours to watch you have fun, while she and the kids sit around in the heat and do nothing.
She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man,
because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Nothing?!?! You've never been here, have you? ;)

A few things for whuffos to do and see that are within about an hour's drive of Perris - LegoLand, San Diego Zoo, a large number of museums in San Diego and LA, Sea World, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, numerous beaches, Magic Mountain, Ontario Mills Mall (it's not just a mall, it's an experience...), March Air Force base museum, Perris train museum... For those who don't want to spend a whole lot of money there's hiking and climbing at Lake Perris and up on Mt. San Jacinto, swimming in the pool at the dz...

Cutted and pasted.

I'm thinking the hanging out poolside is the ticket, with the Zoo or Legoland on Sunday. Perris is a nice place for whuffos to hang out. Heck, maybe I'll get her on another tandem.

And Skymama, 1) yes, she's very cool and 2) watching me have fun is a great deal of fun. Maybe not as fun as watching a woman shop for shoes, but still pretty dang fun!;)

Come on! 2 ten way chunks out of the Van! Ltdiver and Q-dog hangin from the step on camera, Sebazz in someone else's grip suit, Lummy grinnin like a madman under that wicked cool green bonehead, Skybytch slapping all of us one at a time, hard, for asking to see the altitude enhancers....

Epic. Shaping up to be epic.

Did I mention it was The Club Med of skydiving??
You can stay at the plush accommodations like the bunkhouse or the IHOP, get 3 or 4 squares in the bombshelter (or 1 square at Square1), and they also have a pool! Other attractions are the nice Lake Perris or the clear waters of Lake Elsinore. The rodeo is nearby if you want to catch some great bull riding or goat roping. There may even be a 4-H event to see the prize winning hogs. And don't forget the local dairies. I love this place!

Everytime I bring someone to a dz I feel like I'm leaving them out --- I am though, A plane!

If I didn't jump watching people have fun that I could not relate to would be boring. I have never been much of a tag along. I can't even fake it. Then again I'm not a wife with two kids to look after.

Peace
