Stacy 0 #1 August 21, 2002 Hey- Work is sending me to Atlanta for a week for a conference and condensed grad course. Looks like I'll be flying in the day before the course (Sunday 10/27) in the late morning or early afternoon. Never been there, what's to see/do? I won't get to bring gear or jump, sadly. skydiverbrian 0 #2 August 21, 2002 no gear? no jumps? what kind of satanic minion do you work for? no fair sending someone out of town and not allowing 2 days for jumping. In a world full of people, only some want to fly... isn't that crazy! --Seal
Stacy 0 #3 August 21, 2002 my only hope of jumping would be on sunday and that woudl be pushing it. I consider myself lucky to get paid and reimbursed for 7 days of not working.
freeflir29 0 #4 August 21, 2002 Well...let's see...I'm not much into museums and such but...The Fernbank Science center has lots of neat stuff. Including an IMAX theater. There is the High museum of art, Stone Mountain, Kennesaw National Battlefield, Six Flags, Little 5 Points, and Buckhead bars. Thats about all I can think of at the moment. I'm not much into the tourist stuff.

mouth 0 #7 August 21, 2002 Be very careful showing up with Clay... 1. he is a freak 2. we would worry about you ... actually maybe not since you are not of the 4 legged species! There should be some of us normals there to jump with so just keep us informed. Lisa -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. Dutchboy 0 #10 August 23, 2002 Don't forget to go to the War of Northern Agression Museum (That's the Civil War Museum to you). It is actually a nice little museum. If you do jump, Atlanta Air Sportz in Rome had the best deal on rental gear last I checked. If you ask nice enough, you might even get some air transport up there. Stacy 0 #12 August 23, 2002 won't be needing any rental gear. my new rig will be here sept 3 and i still have my old one as well... =c) looks like i may be forced into freeflying at skydive atlanta. the deal has been made- i freefly, no cameras allowed, i really look quite horrible freeflying. apparently the last time i was freeflying i was so unbearable awful someone felt the need to break my nose..... Ducky 0 #13 August 23, 2002 Buckhead? Stone Mtn? sheesh man how long ahve you lived here????? There is far more to do in Atlanta than that. Tell the woman something she wouldn't find in a guide book. I would seriously skip buckhead unless you like the meat market, cruisin my Navigator with 20" rims atmosphere. Try the Highlands or at least Midtown. All of this is relative to where you will be staying of course. I will be in Nawlins the first part of that week, but will return later perhaps we can ll grab a beer. kwakSometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. Sometimes your the hammer sometimes your the nail. Question is Hun, Do you wanna get hammered or do you wanna get nailed?????
cyberskydive 0 #14 August 23, 2002 All this talk about the places in Atlanta makes me wanna come back for a visit.......sheesh it's been almost a year already! I grew up within walking distance of Stone Mountain-lol And have been to nearly all the places mentioned of course, and there are a few others like the Zoo, Cyclorama, Dekalb farmers market was always a great place to get food, etc... If ya really wanna see just how normal most people you know really are take a trip to little 5, lol, then go to the highlands for a beer! You could visit Athens, Piedmont park(lol), theres lots of great clubs etc depending on your mood and what your into (drinking?) The reallt great thing is that no matter which direction you go theres a dropzone worth jumping at not to far away, of course you could spend all your free time visiting various places, but you'd probably have a better time just going to the dz-lol have phun!-System.Windows.IUnknown.Crash.Reboot.Crash.Reboot.Freeze.Crash.Reboot.Break.Stuff.dot...
