jraf 0 #1 August 27, 2002 Can anyone tell me who and where organizes bungee jumps. It used to be one of my favorite past times before I started jumping out of proper altitudes. I did a load of bungee jumps during my stay in Europe. It would be nice to do it in the States tooQuoteMy, my, my, said the spider to the fly jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. jraf 0 #3 August 27, 2002 I survived more than 500 jumps. Cranes, bridges, TV Towers - u name it, u got it. It is kind of fun. Got to try sandbagging - load 30 lbs of sand into a napsack, jump with it and let go of it when you reach the ground Its like being the human cannonballjraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. jraf 0 #6 August 27, 2002 Not reaching the ground is like tandem skydiving - it's for jouriders. Get as close to the ground as possible - that IS the point. Water is a different story, there you can and should get wetjraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
drenaline 0 #7 August 27, 2002 Bungee equals everything you will never see in a skydive. Scary stuff! kewl!! HISPA 21 www.panamafreefall.com
jraf 0 #8 August 27, 2002 Variety is the spice of life. I like to try different things to know what they do to me. If I get to grow old (now that is a scary thought) I want to be able to say my life was full of excitement. Office, wife, dog, kids, TV set, two weeks vacation at Disney World - phuk that. Ricx 0 #9 August 27, 2002 Bungy Jumping is real good fun! I love it. My first one was what got me into doing extreme stuff. Did it in Phuket in Thialand over this pond. Liked it so much, did three there! On the first jump, when you reach the bottom and are being pulled back up, you bend at the waist and summersalt all the way back up doing front loops and twists! Great buzz! For the second one the rope was lengthend and I got a good old dunkin! Pretty scarry, as the water is comming fast and buy the time you brace yourself , your being shoot back up towards the crane! YEEEHARR!!!! again...again...again!!!! and I did! ( transportation to the site was on a hired Yamaha CBR450!! Cool ) I think there are competitions in Bungy jumping. Anyone ever head of that? jraf 0 #10 August 27, 2002 I just reviewed the bungee web sites in the States. It seems that most of them are cranes in amusement parks. That SUCKS big time. I would be looking for bridges. That is most excellent as you not only get to enjoy the jump but also the view without the screams of children, lamentation of women and the ever present stench of fast food burger grease. Are there no more people left who gather a group of people and do it just for fun?jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275
megscott73 0 #11 August 27, 2002 I'm actually really scared of bungee jumping. I can jump out of a plane but not off a platform....what's up with that! ======================= "What I want is what I've not got ,but what I need is all around me"-DMB Meghan
jraf 0 #12 August 27, 2002 It is a different kind of jump. I would never give up skydiving for that, but it still is fun. As to the point of being scared - good. Cemetaries are full of fearless heroes. If one of these days you will not feel the anxiety before a skydive STOP immediately. You have probably forgotten to do your gear check, have not reviewed the emergency procedures and might have forgotten to take your rig with you. Being scared is good. It keeps you alive and safe. PLFKING 4 #13 August 27, 2002 QuoteI can jump out of a plane but not off a platform....what's up with that! It's gotta be ground rush. I was more scared during my 1 bungee jump than I have been in all my skydives combined. Don
freeflir29 0 #14 August 27, 2002 QuoteIt's gotta be ground rush. I was more scared during my 1 bungee jump than I have been in all my skydives combined. Uuumm....just pull at 2000 Ft. You'll get plenty of ground rush!!!!
PLFKING 4 #15 August 27, 2002 I heard that.....this weekend we broke at 3500, and i pulled at about 2200. It was the first time I actually experienced "ground rush", 'cause i normally pull at 3500. It got my attention, I can tell you. The only other time I pulled at 2200 was when i was a student, but I was on my back at the time..... Don
jraf 0 #16 August 27, 2002 True, it is EXTREMELY tough to miss the Green Planet. It is rather large and approaches pretty fast. There is no reason to endanger youself unless you want to prove something. I have seen a ditch left by a dude who decided to part with his mortal self while tracking. jraf Me Jungleman! freeflir29 0 #17 August 27, 2002 I did a couple "LOW SHOWS" earlier this year out of the Cessna on cloudy days. When you don't get full inflation until 1000Ft you keep getting ground rush even during deployment. That was wicked!!!! I guess thats the closest thing to a BASE jump I have ever done. PS..On a "regular" skydive I REALLY like to pull at 3000Ft. and I definately do not encourage ANYONE to go any lower. No matter how many jumps you have.
