helicam 0 #1 September 3, 2002 This idea came about after many fermented beverages.... Biggest problem is how to shoot and still fly your canopy....modified one arm rig or maybe a tandem with the TM flying and the passenger doing the shooting? I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter

scottbre 0 #3 September 3, 2002 This sounds like a really dumb idea. That's exactly what you need. Something to take your mind off of flying your canopy, watching out for traffic and making sure you are in the appropriate landing pattern. I'm real sure someone would love to try to land with goggles splattered with paint. "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!" My Art Project
ShortBus 0 #4 September 3, 2002 its not the thought of taking your eye off the ground that is kinda crazy, but you do realize that those little paintballs are going 290fps (feet per second) + or - 30 fps we'll say. im leaning towords some canopy damage here..or a shot to the eye mean no more eye and very possibly death skydiving goggles dont have the protection needed. I am pretty involved in playing paintball lots of fun for my weekdays, under canopy though your F'in crazy just my opinion though but what do i know im just a kid? Zinger 0 #5 September 3, 2002 Negatives never helps productivity, So never mind what some say that may discourage a thought, I also thought about paintball under canopy, Above a un-populated area and high enough to handle any wraps or collisions I imagine the fun of a "Dogfight" with some friends, A paintball gun velcro'd on your thigh with a bite switch trigger..lol..That would be GREAT fun.. Keep the mind open, works better that way. ------Have a good one!--------
ernokaikkonen 0 #6 September 3, 2002 Yeah! Proper protective gear, a clear and pull from 4000m and you're set to go! Breakoff at 1000m or so. The whuffos on the ground might not like the raining paintballs so this shouldn't be done over populated areas. And you probably don't want to take your brand new rig up there to be smeared with paint... Erno

jraf 0 #8 September 3, 2002 Well, paintball under canopy - fellers, maybe that is not such a good idea. I mean it sounds appealing but you might get some REAL kills out of that one. I am trying to organize some paintball battles at the DZ. The problem is not everybody wants to committ the few buck for the equipment. The last time I did a full blown battle was in a huge old brick factory - loads of fun. It had large grounds, 3 storeys, multiple buildings - just perfect urban warfare. I managed to fall though the roof (nobody said it was entirely safe) yet still managed to get my assailant (in flight). It was a hard landing (no canopy to help me) but by no means did it put me out of commission. Loads and loads of fun. I envy you a bit, cause PGH has better grounds for paintball than Orlando. Not only is there the place in the Strip (right in the same bulding as the Metropol (The M) and Rosebud, but if you want to go for the real stuff the Ohiopile state park is just brilliant.jraf Me Jungleman! evilivan 0 #9 September 3, 2002 Friend of mine is seriously thinking about doing it with those laser quest type guns. Get one mounted on a helmet with a mouth trigger and have targets on the back of helmets or wherever. Pull at altitiude and dogfight all the way down. I think his idea is for highly loaded canopies (he jumps a VX79), and therefore experienced pilots only. Sounds like fun to me....."If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation."
