mountainman 0 #1 September 4, 2002 Hey everyone. Laura and I just ordered new freefly suits over the Richmond Boogie and when we got home, I put our RW suits (hardly used) on classified. Here is my question: do you think we should keep them? We never really do RW together or with other people. We both really enjoy freeflying much, much more. So, what is your opinion? Thanks! http://www.brandonandlaura.com
nws01 0 #2 September 4, 2002 Keep them. When the time comes and someone really wants to crank out some points or do a big way you will have it.
jfields 0 #3 September 4, 2002 Keep them. You never know when you two will want to have useful grippers for kinky things, even if you are freeflying.
Sebazz1 2 #4 September 4, 2002 Nathan's right. They may come in handy when you least expect it. Hang on to them. Surf's up Biotch!!!
skybytch 273 #5 September 4, 2002 I'll never sell a jumpsuit, not even my ratty 12 year old Pit Special. Never know when it might come in handy. Besides, aren't you planning to be an AFF instructor someday? You may need that gripper suit then.
wildblue 7 #6 September 4, 2002 Keep them. RW can be fun, you never know when you might want to do it (or get asked).it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
bbarnhouse 0 #7 September 4, 2002 Keep them! You may want to fly with some newbies as a mentor Back the F*&$% up!!
freeflir29 0 #8 September 4, 2002 I do everything except H&P's in my Free Fly suit. I suppose if I had already bought an RW suit I would just keep it. I'm a pack rat though.....
mountainman 0 #9 September 4, 2002 Thanks for the info. I guess after this, Deuce in the camera forum and some thinking, I have deleted the ads for the jumpsuits. I don't know about AFF anymore. I just don't think I'll have what it takes to be an AFF I. My interested just really isn't into RW. However, I agree that it is important to learn how to fly on my belly some more. Especially when I'll want to fly with tandem friends (and to do tandems). Have a great week everyone! http://www.brandonandlaura.com
Deuce 1 #10 September 4, 2002 Dude! Seriously, if you are still at 50 some odd jumps you are going to experience all kinds of cool stuff. If you're about 30 you've got like 40 years of jumping ahead of you. Do an RW jump with your Mrs. and some other freaks once a week just for laughs. When you guys come out for the next annual Dropzone.com Perris Invation Tour you can at least be in the base. Think long-haul, and then haul-ass! TEB6363 0 #11 September 4, 2002 Yep, hold on to them. I have 4 suites now, Tandem, RW, Fast fall rate, and good old #1. SEB was even using good old #1 at the Kathy Dause Boogie (looked good too). Keep them, they will be used some day. Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
mountainman 0 #12 September 4, 2002 Well, I am 22 so I guess I have a few years left, eh? I don't like trying to jump with Laura cuz I out weight her by about 80 lbs. and we can NOT fall together. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
Jimbo 0 #13 September 4, 2002 QuoteI don't like trying to jump with Laura cuz I out weight her by about 80 lbs. and we can NOT fall together. Actually 80 pounds isn't that much at all. I can fall with people more than 100lbs lighter than me. Jumping with her might be good practice for the both of you, you'll learn to slow down (and be able to jump with more people,) and she'll learn to speed up a little bit (same benefit.) Oh, and just so it's on topic, keep the jumpsuit. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
mountainman 0 #14 September 4, 2002 I guess I need to ask some of the jumpmasters at the dropzone about how to control some fallrate some more. The only way we have come close to falling together is if I spread as far out as I can and she curls into a ball. That isn't how you should fly your body since there is no control at all. Any suggestions?http://www.brandonandlaura.com
mouth 0 #15 September 5, 2002 I can fly with guys 100 lbs heaver than me and keep up with no weights so it can be learned! If you sell I want dibs on the wife's suit as I messed mine up a few weeks ago. Pay attention to where you are landing not who is standing there talking!!!!! LIsa -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
quatorze 1 #16 September 5, 2002 Hold on to them definately, you never know when Lew Sanborn or Jerry Bird, are gonna say, "Hey Mountain, want on this 16 way?" Just a thought I'm not afriad of dying, I'm afraid of never really living- Erin Engle
AndyMan 7 #17 September 5, 2002 Keep them. Doing only one discipline is a choice usually only made by people just starting out. In time you'll find RW more appealing. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
FallinWoman 1 #18 September 5, 2002 Brandon.... Like everyone here is saying....Keep them. The fact that you and Laura can't fall together tells me that you have some things left to learn in the RW discipline. Just an aside...there was a thin, floaty girl at my DZ who couldn't fall with the rest of us. She got some coaching form someone who really knows his stuff....Suddenly she can fall with the fastest of us as well as with those floaty people....quite a skill to have! Have fun!
