ltdiver 3 #27 September 2, 2002 QuoteQuoteNew Pink Jumpsuit! Wooo HOoooooo!!! Congrats Lori! I know how much you wanted it. *bytch does the happy dance for Lori* The weekend isn't anywhere near over yet, but here's mine so far - 5:3:1 These numbers subject to change by Monday evening Thanks Lisa! This October at Perris is going to ROCK!! Not old enough for the POPS records yet, but JFTC is going to fill the bill quite nicely! Sounds like your weekend was incredible, too! Did a few more big-way loads today to bring my weekend numbers up from 5 to 9. God I love this big-way stuff. Gonna be kinda hard to put the ol' camera back on my head again come next weekend... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
narcimund 0 #28 September 2, 2002 1 (new jump I got introduced to):10:0 Never did a tube jump before (thanks, April). 10 jumps total. No beer because I bring watermelons and cookies and donuts and flowers and grilled rack of lamb. I think bringing beer to the DZ is overrated and cliche. Two weekends in a row now that I've tied my single-day record for most jumps: 7. Eugene Skydivers' new manifestor kicks ass. Go Jennifer! FallinWoman 1 #29 September 2, 2002 412 : 1 : 0 412: Number of times at the DZ someone asked me where i have been.....ok..i hadn't jumped since rantoul....weather....wrist injury....medic with no rig...I might just have to be flattered that everyone noticed my absence! 1: Finally got my Cessna hop & pop.....it was a beautiful thing. I am not feeling well, sinus issues, so full altitude is out... BTW....have I told you guys how awesome my boyfriend is? Doesn't really fit the numbers thing, but I can't help it!!! ~Anne I'm a Doll!!!!

billvon 3,088 #31 September 2, 2002 3:8:1 First jump from a turbine DC-3. That thing is going to be used for the 300 way with that tiny door? I hope they can get the cargo door worked out - I would not want to be one of the 40 people who has to squeeze through the small one. Saw lots of DZ.com people, including the Perris DZ. com 'regulars.' Managed to (mostly) not get into any political arguments. Amy and Molly got pretty drunk on the Pyramid Hefeweizen now on tap at the bomb shelter. Molly was excited because she got invited on the women's attempt - we decided her recent miraculous recovery would make a great story for a fundraiser. I spent a while talking to Linda Hardesty, Kate, Mick Cottle and Jan Meyer. It was one of those nights where you sit in the bar till midnight talking to people and there are still people you want to talk to before they leave. Did some fun dives, including one where we did a go-around, then the floaters climbed out only to have Jan call them back in, then put them out again due to a miscommunication. Amy was proud of the fact that she had no problem front-floating on the DC-3, a position that foiled another jumper on the next jump (I was behind him and no matter what I tried I could not push him into position.) Snowbird 0 #35 September 2, 2002 Oddly enough I can't seem to edit my previous post. So... The weather improved. Went back to the dropzone (I love living so close!) and found a few other jumpers looking for a load filler. Fortunately, I fit that description perfectly. Numbers now read 1:4:0 One glorious sunset while under canopy @3000'. Four awesome jumps, during which I finally figured out the whole frontloop thing. Those are fun! So are multiple backloops. Kinda sorta meant to do that So the weekend ended quite brilliantly. I'm a happy gal. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Skystorm 0 #36 September 2, 2002 3:4:1 I did one awesome 2-way with a friend and finally stood up my landings on my 170ZP. My b/f and I attempted a 2 way but he fell away from me. But it was still special. The beer owed was for jumping my new gear the first time at my home DZ. Gene Police: "YOU!! Out of the pool, NOW!!!"
AggieDave 6 #37 September 2, 2002 20-something (tandems packed by me):1:0 Only got one jump, but the weekend isn't over, going out tomorrow after classes. Packed 20 something tandems this weekend, plus a fuck-load of sport rigs, not bad, made some money, drank some beer...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." I didn't know it was Joe until the next morning. This probably isn't the place to ask about it, but is there any word on his condition? I'm taking it that he survived, which is really great news. I hope that it looked worse than it was.

Info is sparse because hospital won't release info to non-family, and even tho we are family, we're not family...maybe someone who saw what happened can post to the incidents forum? My numbers: 1:2:0 1: number of times Jan Meyers recommended I NOT jump in that weather 2: jumps I made on saturday 0: but I bought a pitcher for the gang anyway.... AndyMan 7 #43 September 2, 2002 0:0:0 I started by blowing off CouchFreaks because a: I wanted my ankle to finally heal properly, b: I needed to save some money, and c: I wanted to spend the weekend with my new GF. Well, I hurt my ankle yesterday afternoon, have spent WAY too much money this weekend, and last night: "I just want to be friends". Sucky weekend, no doubt. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
