This Pisses me Off

Quote from AggieDave:
Also, in the State of Texas, if you are on my property commiting a crime (i.e. vandalising, etc) I have the right to shoot you on the spot. Although, if the crime was vandalising by tossing toliet paper over my trees and you were unarmed, the property owner would be eaten alive by the Lawyers...

I'd be careful with that one. There's a pretty extensive post in rec. on this very topic. Even in Texas (and Houston, the buckle on the bubba belt), there are some notable exceptions.
There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

There are some exceptions, but I have actually read the laws pertaining to this and other things of this nature and it *is* true.

Hey Deuce, can you offer a reference to this incident? I've looked high and low and can't find one any where. I'd like to read more about it.

Thanks

Burning down the ROTC hall? I think it was 1985, right after my time. Oakland Tribune and the Cal paper might be good sources. I was at Cal-State Hayward at the time, only did my ROTC classes at Cal.

Quantico was easier than doing PT days at Cal. At Quantico we didn't have our peers screaming at us that we were baby-killers.
