rhino 0 #76 September 9, 2002 QuoteExactly. If Bill is willing to condone the murder of innocent citizens in Afghanistan, then he has no right to be upset when innocent Americans get killed. Whether there is a question of morality or not, it is a simple matter of consistency. Either our nation and any other nation has the right to kill innocent people in combatting one another, or neither one does. There can be no in between. I think you are off base here.. Were the INNOCENT Afghans killed in War? Or working peacefully at an office building in down town New York providing a living for their families? Bill has the right to be upset about the killing of innocent Americans. Rhino

Rhino, Bill wasn't talking about innocents killed in the course of war, he was talking about eradicating every single Afghani citizen to retaliate for 9/11. I believe the current phrase for that is "ethnic cleansing." See the following, and his earlier posts in this thread. QuoteIf we had flattened them after the van bombing in '95, we wouldn't be having this discussion. If we had retaliated then and killed 50,000 Afghans, it would have saved 3,000 innocent Americans. Good example. I have no problem with that. If we did it effectively now, they wouldn't do it in the future and none of their friends would think it was a good idea. Thus, saving future battles and casualties. Peace through superior firepower.A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

PhreeZone 20 #79 September 9, 2002 >Were the INNOCENT Afghans killed in War? Yes, quite a few were killed that had nothing to do with combat. A wedding was taken out on accident, a few caravans were wiped out. Attacking the entire country when all that needs attacked are less then 500-1000 is just plain wrong. That would be like saying that since there was a compund of peolpe that fired on govenment officials in TX (Waco), the entire population of Texas needs to be attacked at random to make sure that there are no more of "those type" out there.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

rhino 0 #81 September 9, 2002 You said it.. ON ACCIDENT.. No one flew an airliner into the wedding party. And it was AFGHAN intelligence that targeted that wedding party so give me another one? The convoy could have radioed ahead saying we are this many vehicles leaving at this time and that might have been avoided.. You can't possibly compare the 2.. Their is not war CURRENTLY happening in the US border.. Their is a WAR in Afghanistan. Al Quida was burrowed in that country. Again cause and effect. They LET the Al Quida in their country and didn't stand up in time "Like Iraq" and now they have to pay the piper because Big Brother is cleaning house.. FliegendeWolf 0 #82 September 10, 2002 QuoteI was responding to you not Bill.. Actually, you were responding to my response to Bill, and not taking into account the context of what I was saying. Therefore, I paraphrased Bill's previous post to get you on track to the conversation. I stand by what I said. If Bill can condone the intentional slaughtering of every last Afghan, then he has no cause to object when al Queda does the same thing to America.A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
