The gear you wish you'd kept

Recommended Posts

Anyone else have a rig or piece of equipment that they wish they'd kept? Something that became obsolete, or out-of-fashion, or too small, but that somehow had the kind of magic that made it easy to love?
For me, it was my old Starlite main. Nope, not as fast or soft-landing as a square, but somehow it was always fun and free-feeling to jump. It's the only canopy I have a picture of on my desk...
Other equipment is fun, but THAT was a canopy!
There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

I used to have a Super Pro harness and container in the 70's. It was three pin and Navy Blue. I had a solid red para-commander in it. It was a bitch to pack, because it was so tight. But it looked really cool for that time period. I went down to 500 ft. once with this rig before opening. Noone in the star was watching their altimeter and I was the last one in. I sold it and bought a bareback rigging, spurs, and chaps (to rodeo with). Was I stupid or what! I sold it cheap. I'd love to have it back. Steve1

I miss my first jumpsuit, custom made for me by another jumper back in 1985.

My current jumpsuit is the same three colors, but I loved those big gaudy 80s diagonal leg and arm stripes. Today's designs are... well... too reserved.

Unless you get a freefly suit, in which case they're too ... well... flashy.
