kevin922 0 #1 September 13, 2002 After the post on the c-17 jump-plane and per my recommendation to use a C-5 instead, I went looking for c-5 pics. Found this one, is it just me or is something missing in this image? TEB6363 0 #3 September 13, 2002 Maybe it has one of those "invisable" nose gear Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!

bvsdjumper 0 #8 September 13, 2002 The name of the JPG is: c5_nosegearup_1.jpg Is this really to suggest that it's landing with the nose gear up? Or is it taking off and the nose geat was put up right away???

ChileRelleno 0 #10 September 13, 2002 Pretty obvious from the length of the dust trail and the configuration of the flaps that it is indeed LANDING. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868

JohnRich 4 #12 September 13, 2002 Quoteis it just me or is something missing in this image? It appears that the there really was a failure to extend the nose gear. That would explain why they're landing on dirt, instead of asphalt, to eliminate sparks. And also why they have an escort plane alongside, who was probably sent to peer underneath the plane and advise the pilots about the status of the nose gear, which they couldn't see themselves.
