For those of you who have forgotten how one joins the only REAL skymonkey clan here is the poop: You must either party, jump, or jump and party with a member of the clan. No, you can't name yourself, and no, you can't have a hat unless you get it through me. Anyway, Betsy qualified and was named by my west-coast representative, Lisa, the MonkeyBytch. Lisa was the first person outside of North Carolina to achieve skymonkey status (minus my teammates Eric and Bryan who also got indoctrinated last year at Perris). Believe me, Lisa met the criteria and was thus presented with one of MY hats. She can have her own colors if she would like, but getting one from me is "special". That is all. As far as what discipline Skymonkeys (we refuse to spell the plural version "skymonkies") participate in, it varies. I generally belly fly and fly my birdman suits, but don't have any problem on my head or feet; I am a well-rounded monkey. We are a social organization; nothing more. If there was one thing that applies to most "hat holders", it's the fact that the great majority of us hold instructional ratings of one type or another. We all freely give our time to help the up and coming skydivers on our dropzone.
