fasterfaller 0 #3 September 15, 2002 You mean stalling the canopy ?
hohonukai 0 #4 September 15, 2002 My guess would be stalling the canopy? Heck, I dunno. I'm listening tho!
hooked 0 #5 September 15, 2002 No, it wasn't a stall. DAMN, I wish I would have asked, dummy me, just having so much fun, I guess. You definitely felt as though you just 'dipped' like on a roller coaster! J -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. fasterfaller 0 #6 September 15, 2002 Describe what you did .Spiraling ?
hooked 0 #7 September 15, 2002 It wasn't during a spiral, could it have been some kind of rotation or revolution? You know the feeling you get in your stomach when you are in a roller coaster as you go over the hill and start down? That was it. I was enjoying the ride, I guess I wasn't paying attention. Maybe it was a stall to begin with and then.........????? J -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. fasterfaller 0 #8 September 15, 2002 A good stall could feel like a coaster ride .
hohonukai 0 #9 September 15, 2002 *sigh* OK! Twist my arm, I'm gonna go up and stall my canopy at 2500' just for the rollercoaster feelin' now. You two are making me jones to be under canopy.
hooked 0 #10 September 15, 2002 Well, maybe it was, but I've stalled before and this didn't feel like it, but hey, what do I know? All I know was it was FUN. I've just done some tandems and am starting to feel really comfortable with them, so it might be time to move on to AFF or SL! Today, it was barrel rolls out the doorJ -------------------------------------- Sometimes we're just being Humans.....But we're always Human Beings. VivaHeadDown 0 #11 September 15, 2002 Just a guess: With plenty of altitude and looking around to clear your air, flare hard, then let into full flight quickly. If you don't have any problems, try building speed (front risers or just toggle turn) before the flare to get a stronger reation. With plenty of altitude and looking around to clear your air. flyhi 24 #12 September 15, 2002 Quoteflare hard, then let into full flight quickly. I assume you are under a big canopy. If not, the above described maneuver could lead to other fun maneuvers like canopy wrap, line twists,... Be careful how fast you let up on your toggles. Do it progressively. If not, wear brown pants.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
Iflyme 0 #13 September 15, 2002 If you want to have fun under your canopy - pull right after leaving the plane ... of course, you have to make sure the other jumpers and the pilot know your intentions ... but you'll have a lot more time to experiment and have fun! hooked 0 #15 September 15, 2002 Ah, don't worry about it. It was probably just a name he gave the maneuverReading some of the replies here on the stalling, was probably what it was! kingbunky 3 #16 September 15, 2002 i tried that on my first jump. full stall, then up with the arms quick. everything was quiet , then my canopy came down in front of me and started dragging me face down across the sky for a bit. haven't worked up the nerve to try it again!"Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart."
