Pammi 0 #1 September 15, 2002 This was pretty cool. And apparently, our friends at Raeford helped them write the article and took the author on a tandem. Howstuffworks.com Pamela
howardwhite 6 #2 September 16, 2002 It was remarkably informative and accurate, but a few quibbles are in order... Referring consistently to the pilot chute as the "drogue chute." Understandable for a tandem student. "It is common for the reserve chute to be packed by a certificated rigger." Better be more than common. The reserved is repacked every few months "to keep it from getting stiff." Interesting concept. "Folding" parachutes. Common wuffo term, in this case maybe used to avoid saying "packing" twice in the same sentence. Nonetheless, very positive. Wonder who reads this site.
