Deuce 1 #1 September 18, 2002 Shrinking these down to pass the hot fork test is a pain. I did get the one 5 way shot as I rocketed by head-down in my freefly suit. That was about as lucky as getting a picture of a bullet going through an apple unassisted. Any quality issues are due to having been repeatedly Bytch-slapped. Blame Lisa. Go ahead, I'm hundreds of miles away. Seb can call me when she rockets past and I'll put on my scuba gear and go hide in the Delta.

TEB6363 0 #3 September 18, 2002 Hey, I've seen those guys before....They're from DZ.com!!!! Once the plane takes off, you're gonna have to land - Might as well jump out!!
Deuce 1 #4 September 18, 2002 I actually have that pic, but since I was about 1000 feet below you and going about .8 mach it looks like 4 sparrows being kissed by one really bytchy sparrow
flyhi 24 #5 September 18, 2002 Never having been there, how about a little DZ brief. From pic 1188, do you land in the green adjacent to the runway? What are those things below the green area that look like they are out of Mel Gibson's new movie, Signs? Is the round area in the lower, right quadrant the peas? Swoop pond? Nice pics BTW.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
skybytch 273 #6 September 18, 2002 Green area adjacent to the runway is the main landing area. Big dirt circle center left is the "student landing area" - that and all the rest of the dirt (brown areas) are where you land if you don't want to follow the pattern the first guy down set in the grass. Round area in lower right quadrant is the helipad. Building on the right is the maintainance hangar. Swoop pond isn't in the pic.
Sebazz1 2 #7 September 18, 2002 You will notice one big @ss airoplane on the runway from the aerial pic. That'd be the big @ss turbine DC-3 babay

Deuce 1 #9 September 18, 2002 No one is telling you folks that the "dirt landing area" is composed entirely of magnetic lunar dust. That shit is two feet deep and has the consistency of talcum powder. I toggled myself into that stuff on a night jump back in June, and I'm still trying to get it out of my gear.. Yeah, learn to land, whatever... That plane so totally rocked!
nws01 0 #10 September 18, 2002 I landed in the dirt on one occasion. They set up a down wind landing pattern and I had to land out off the grass because of traffic. I was watching canopies and not the ground. Bifff...Bam...Boom. Sudsyfist laughed when I was covered in dirt. Luckily I demoed a Boomerang and I did not eat dirt when I face planted. I scratched the helmet though. I took a shower and washed my jumpsuit after that one though. It was smugly.

Scoby 0 #17 September 18, 2002 I actually like the dirt landing area. It's big, it's soft, and it isn't full of guys landing on their butts all around you. I don't think I'll be venturing onto the grass for a while. I decided to jump at Perris regularly now. It really was a great day. Next time, I should be up for jumping with everyone else.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
