Skyrad 0 #1 September 18, 2002 Ok, so whats the longest you've been without making a jump and how long did it take you to start getting quite irritable? Me? Seven weeks now and grumpy as hell! When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Skyrad 0 #5 September 18, 2002 Cheers, work and bad weather along with lack a of a car have been keeping me on the ground, I get in at night look at my rig and can't wait to get back in the air, even if its only a hop'n'pop. Slowfaller 0 #6 September 18, 2002 I haven't made a jump since June 8th, I don't know what it is but when it's real hot out I get real lazy. My rig is actually sitting right next to me in my office and I'm going down to the DZ after work to have my reserve repacked and my Cypres installed. Hopefully I'll jump this weekend if my rigger can get my reserve packed in time Chris, the crazy guy who likes to jump in cool/cold weather

mountainman 0 #12 September 18, 2002 During the summer, I went 7 weeks without a jump. I was FEELING very crappy and mad at everything. Right after that jump and later, I felt great. There is just something about the sky. http://www.brandonandlaura.com
Slowfaller 0 #13 September 18, 2002 Next time I'm at Skydive Chicago I'll keep an eye open. Skydive Chicago is great in the off season, but in the summer it's too busy. Last time I was there was in Feb. Chris
ChileRelleno 0 #14 September 18, 2002 I went 7 months once due to a non skydiving injury, man did it feel gooooood to get back in the saddle! Right now I'm recovering from a broken tib/fib due to a bad swoop and I could be out for up anywhere from 4 to 6 months. Its been 3 weeks and the only reason I'm not competely stir crazy is this website. AggieDave 6 #15 September 18, 2002 I've only missed one weekend of jumping in the past 7 months and that was due to weather. However smart or stupid it was to jump, I even jumped after tearing my knee up the weekend before. It just took longer to get in the plane. (hey, the Doc said I could, so I did If I don't jump every weekend, I get very pissy.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." outlawphx 1 #16 September 18, 2002 5 years and 5 months. I jumped for the first time since April of 97 this past Sunday down in Eloy. After convincing the instructor over at the skydiving school that I still remember what to do, I went up and made a solo. I'd forgotten how much fun skydiving was I don't think I'll be able to wait another 5 years for my next jump Now I'm just upset that I sold my rig for so little back in
moodyskydiver 0 #17 September 18, 2002 6 months...very long story. But not jumping really sucked!! I was not fit to live with for awhile. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."
Cajones 0 #18 September 18, 2002 I once gave up skydiving for about 3 years. Gave it up because of a woman! It sucked, but I don't regret it. It was the right thing to do at the time. She's no longer an "issue" with my skydiving. Be careful who you fall in love with. Good reason not to spend too much time around wuffos... The laws of physics are strictly enforced. wmw999 2,587 #19 September 18, 2002 Longest was about 9 years. Maybe 10 jumps in a 15-year period though. My ex-husband would probably tell you I was irritable the whole time Really, though, there were just other priorities for awhile. The best part about doing all that stuff when I was young is that there aren't that many regrets about things undone... Scoby 0 #21 September 18, 2002 The longest I've gone since starting is a month (the gap between the first few of my AFF levels). I haven't jumped since Labor Day weekend and I'm definitely jonesing. Gonna jump this Saturday, though, so the end is in sight. I don't want to go this long without again.
skybytch 273 #22 September 18, 2002 8 months on the ground, did one jump then spent 6 months more on the ground. Back injuries suck.
dreamsville 0 #23 September 18, 2002 Close to 3 weeks due to weather. I schemed to get out during the week, and felt irritable towards 2 weeks, then hopeful after that. Between good weather during the colder months and going to Florida, I try to get in at least a couple of jumps every weekend of the year. If it's not really cold (<35) and it's jumpable, I don't really recognize any such thing as an off-season. HarryI don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane. Harry, FB #4143
JohnJug 0 #24 September 18, 2002 Currently I'm somewhere over a year. The first month was hell, and I was irritable for a couple months. Then I settle into a whuffo routine life. I was doing ok until I made the (fortunate) mistake of coming back onto DZ.com Now I read all the posts and remember how much I miss it. The worst part is that I was finally about to get to start jumping again, and now my dog is sick and we are spending so much money on him that I have to put off jumping for a little while longer. Damn priorities!
