kevin922 0 #1 September 18, 2002 I didn't make it to the WFFC this year but I THOUGHT I heard they pulled the jet off this year. I went and looked at the website today and there are copies of letters posted in reference to the 727 and the connie both cancelling for the WFFC. Were they NOT there? kevin922 0 #3 September 18, 2002 Hey gimmie a break, I cutaway a girlfriend, had to find a new job, find a new place to live, AND deal with the USPS to get my mail forwarded (which is turning out to be the hardest thing out of all my troubles), I'm going through training to be a cop and I'm a full time student, my time is a LITTLE sucked up right now
cameramonkey 0 #4 September 18, 2002 They werent there (no big surprise). I dont know why kirlin doesnt just toss it in, or make the supplier get advance insurance. it always seems like they call the insurance company the day before and say..." oh, by the way..." No duuuh they are gonna say no.Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
Guest #5 September 18, 2002 It's not that simple. The C-130 DID show, so you know it's possible to get a specialty aircraft to the convention. Please see my feature article on the WFFC in this month's issue of Skydiving Magazine. mh"The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." Jessica 0 #6 September 18, 2002 QuotePlease see my feature article on the WFFC in this month's issue of Skydiving Magazine. You wrote that? I liked it. My favorite line was: "It's big, I tell ya! Big!" Kevin, do a search in Talkback...we've discussed to plane no-shows at length and you should be able to find some answers there.Skydiving is for cool people only

No duuuh they are gonna say no. There are more pieces to the puzzle than people are making up in their heads...Here's a repost of a message that was on the WFFC message board from Scott Schwarz of Kalitta Air. BTW, both had approval from their insurance carriers prior to their announcement as confirmed jumpships... Bluez~~~ Michael Webmaster Michael@Freefall.com 08/25/02 16:12:51 sent from spider-ntc-tc034.proxy.aol.com Hello Y'all: My name is Scott Schwarz and I was to be the Captain on the B-727 doing drops at the 2002 WFFC. I wuz just cruisin' and thought I would look at the message board to see what I missed... There seems to be som mis-information circulating on this board. I am the Standards Captain for the B-727 at Kalitta Air and the guy who did most of the work on performance capabilities at Rantoul, as well as much of the interface with the FAA and Don. We were all set to go and had a verbal committment from the insurance underwriters that we would be covered for the event. Three days before we were to leave for Rantoul, the *&%%ing underwriters informed us that they were withdrawing coverage for the event. SHIT! We did a mad scramble to try and find other coverage, but there just was not enough time to pull it off. Hopefully, we can get something sorted out for next year. Sounds like I missed one hell of a party. In response to some of the naysayers about the ability of the B-727 to operate in and out of Rantoul, you just don't know what your talking about. With the larger, -15 powerred, engines on the plane we could takeoff at 142,800 pounds on a 94 degree day at Rantoul. The airplane weighs about 92,000 pounds and we need about 9,000 pounds of fuel for one complete circuit (two 45 second jump passes). That leaves 41,800 pounds for skydivers and 'chutes. My high school math says that is enough weight to carry about 220 skydivers with clothing and about 235 naked. Either way, that is more than we can fit inside the plane, with only 180 seatbelts. Hope to see you all next year... Scott L10FR8DOG@aol.com----- ~~~Michael
