They don't give a shit. They have decided you are guilty by then or they think the system will work and the guilty come out of the wash guilty and the innocent come out innocent. Sorta like dunking witches.... Quotenor guilty until proven innocent Usually guilty until proven innocent. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Would have been on the news if they had pushed me any farther. I had a reporter frothing at the mouth for the story.
ColdDuck 0 #29 September 19, 2002 I realize that there are only a couple of people that know the actual truth. But someone brought up the point that in order for Mike to kill his wife he would have had to leave Couch Freaks at night and fly to Tennessee to kill his wife and then fly back to Couch Freaks to create an alibi. This is wierd because from what I have been told by several people that were at Couch Freaks that year, that is exactly what happened. I was told that they saw him take off that evening. From what I understand everyone just thought that he was done flying jumpers at Couch. However he was supposedly back at the Boogie that next morning flying loads, with those burn marks on him. Since I have heard this from many people from several different DZs that were there and said they physically saw him take off that night, I believe it to be true. Of course this does not he killed his wife but, it does discredit any alibi he might have IN MY OPINION. "Insurance should called In case shit happens, if shit don't happen shouldn't I get my money back?"
freeflir29 0 #30 September 19, 2002 Ahhhh...and here we have the problem. After years of rumors and a circus of a trial the truth has become forever lost. Like I said.....there are a couple people that know. None of the rest of us will ever know.

fasterfaller 0 #32 September 19, 2002 I think that if he had left there would have been a few skydivers called to the witness stand . The cops did confirm that he was there when it happened , didn't they ?
konradptr 0 #33 September 19, 2002 I would imagine that if nothing else, the FAA radar network and all the airports, radar recordings, and radio recordings of Mike Mullins calling the Memphis tower (or wherever) for landing clearance would have been a little incriminating if it happened... These rumors have a way of building, so by the time you heard it, the guy that told it was jumpseating with Mike that night, and when they landed, he said, "Wait here, I have something to take care of real quick, and then we can fly back to Couch Freaks..." ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad...... quatorze 1 #34 September 19, 2002 How long before rumor takes hold as the truth? Kind of like in the American south, pre Civil War that there were no Afican-American slave owners.
