Kris 0 #26 September 18, 2002 Quote...also if you do not leave enough line left over after the last stow the snatch force will make the lines taught and as the lines are pulled through the riser chanel they can catch the reserve container and spin the D bag. Yup, that's what happened on my second reserve ride. My first jump on the Heatwave 190 I used to have. I didn't leave enough slack between the bag & risers. I felt the bag hit my rig on deployment. It was horribly spun up and rapidly spinning. I also now leave 18-24" of excess and just S-fold the rest into the bottom of the container. Quotetoggle tops do appear to be out of the toggle keepers..that is true. You can also see that the cat's eye where you set the brakes is not locked over the top of the toggles. The brakes are definitely not set. I'm glad Pablo wa able to get out of it. I had severe line-twists on my first jump at AOT, too. It must have been some mojo that was going around to a lot of people. I was able to equalize the risers and ended up hanging nicely under the canopy after just over one revolution. I caught it before it really got moving. I blew out a tube-stow on that opening. That may have been it or it may just have been a fluke. All my other jumps were fine. AggieDave 6 #34 September 18, 2002 The brakes were unstowed. Some anonymous packer made 1 mistake this weekend out of 100-some packjobs and it happened to be *that* one... Although, if you watch the video, the opening was schweet up until it spun. It sniveled and sniveled... Levin, thanks for the pics dude, that's awsome. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Pablito 0 #35 September 19, 2002 Man, what a funky threat, I feel like I have to say something about my linetwist Dump, Look up, Nice great sneevel, (because canopy in full flight because, brakes weren't stowed), My body position was good because the riser were even during the hole deployment. It was a little search the canopy did that I try to correct and spun me to the other side and that is what happen. But Ramon's 1 line twist was scary, he was all over the sky. Thanks for the awesome Picture Levin!!!!
