Is anyone else working on the weekend???

Recommended Posts

5(or more)-day-a-week job title is Technical Director for Broadcast Services. That title can mean a LOT of things, but in my case I'm in charge of a post-production (video tape editing) and transmission (fiber and satellite) facility for Disney.

Today's "horror" revolves around a pilot TV show we're taping at the main entrance to Disneyland.

Idle hands are the Devil's playground.

Just figured out how to break into the Outlook server remote via the web. Conceivably, I could now do about 80 percent of my work from home. ;) The Boss ain't ever gonna go for THAT!

I'm the night national/international wire editor for a metropolitan daily. An oversimplification: I monitor the news services and decide what's going in the paper. (For those keeping up: Yes, my job description has changed.)

I like it sometimes, but I absolutely loathe the hours. It's "good experience" though.

Can I interest you in some PRNewswire stories?

No, you can not. The only one of those I've ever read all the way through was about a new line of Godiva chocolates.

Jessica, how much of your day is spent sifting through that sort of junk?

80 percent. Luckily, I like to read. :)

I don't actually have a yuppie number...but if I did, this is what I'd like it to be. ;)

Ugh, Ugh, Ugh!!!!!! How I hate working on Saturdays...

Bah. I'm working on Sunday, but at least I got to make 5 great jumps today. Weekend work sucks, but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do....

hmmm...ok ok! I want to be a yuppie skydiver!!! I meet the requirements...I think...here's a debatable q:
How many jumps do you have to have to be considered a skydiver? Some say once you are out of the AFF program; others say your A license...but after my 1st AFF one of jm's told me I was a natural and then said "congradulations, you're a skydiver", and I said " well, not yet..." and he said "no, blah blah blah...you're a skydiver...."
I sold my ta-tas at the tiki party for $50 towards jump for the cause...does that count?

There's nothing lonelier than being at work on a Saturday night, hitting refresh occasionally, and nothing happens. Nothing else in the world makes me feel so alone, so...utterly...alone.

Well i came home right after jumping today. I sent an IM to some chick in TX, but she hasn't responded yet.....
