Vallerina 2 #28 September 23, 2002 30 min drive to Chicago if I'm not going to work:7:0 I had an awesome weekend and some fun fun jumps. Trying to go headdown is a blast! The rw jumps were awesome, as well....except for the fact that everyone floated on me.There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
nws01 0 #29 September 23, 2002 :5:0 You can tell the season will be ending soon in New England. Having to wait for the clouds to go away is a bad sign. Oh well, did a lot of waiting but got 5 jumps in.
sunshine 2 #30 September 23, 2002 1(hurt wrist):7:0 Nothing too exciting to report. Had a rather laid back weekend. Still got in 7 jumps, but did some other stuff too. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

AggieDave 6 #32 September 23, 2002 1 (sore knee):2:1 I fell over running out a landing (stupid, although funny video) and banged the hell out of my "good" knee, nothing bad, just swollen and sore as hell. Got 2 jumps in though. 1 Case due to NEW GEAR! Woohoo, although it wasn't assembled and ready to go for this weekend, I'll be jumping it next weekend, new container, new reserve, new main (although I've been jumping the main for 2 weeks). And its sooo sexy, I'll post pics after next weekend. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
PhreeZone 20 #33 September 23, 2002 1 skydiver I visited in the ER after he hooked and came up a bit short:7:1 A few RW with low timers teaching, a few freeflys with docks and a teaching freefly,an entire jump spend solo back tracking to work on turns, a crosscounty with end cell bumps (found a future CRW dawg out of a freefaller), the normal. Called it a day at 3 ish due to the weather so I packed a reserve and did DZ stuff. It was sad to see the otter on the ground, but at least we were all safe and not jumping in 25+ mph winds. Good, but short weekend at the DZ. Beer is owed for taking a 3 way vertical compressed out and making it fly stable.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Michele 1 #39 September 23, 2002 QuoteAnd just why haven't you jumped your canopy yet Young Lady? Um, because you and BB aren't there to hold my hand? Because I'm scared of the bright yellow stripe, and think it will distract me? Because I haven't had an opportunity to get down there and jump? Because I can't afford the canopy class yet? Any or all of the above, Lummy, and yes, Rhino, you too! I have put over 150 jumps on my PD 170 that has been great to me.. She never malfunctioned, I got her to open beautifully every time (it's all in the slider) and I felt like I knew her in and out, like a best friend. But, shes been a little boring lately, so Ive been looking elsewhere. Enter a Jonathan 150 wing loading 1.2ish to 1. WOW. going from an f111 to an elliptical zero P is a huge difference. theres a lot of mixed reviews of the Jonathan, but I had a great experience on it. Great opening, but VERY different.. it turned super fast.. I got a lot of zero G feeling at the bottom of turns (looking up, the canopy was totally below the horizon.) much much less toggle input needed.. Risers were stable, but the front riser turns were actually not as quick to happen as my PD. Rear risers were VERY responsive. I had to shift a bit in my harness to get it to fly straight once it opened (another very interesting change) I could also really notice the steeper angle of attack.. rear risers are definately needed to get back from a long spot. landing was almost effortless. Not nearly as much toggle needed to get a flare.. The whole experience can be best described as totally bad ass, except the packing which is a lot harder. I was having as much if not MORE fun under canopy as in free fall. The PD never felt that way. I will never go back !!!!! I loved the ride, and can't wait to explore it's performance. the only other bad part is now having a fear of line twists. But it's worth it. Anyone looking for a good first canopy ? I have a PD 170 for sale !Blue Skies ! Bryan
 Prev 1 2 3 4 Next Page 2 of 4 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
