Flying boogie...idea

Recommended Posts

Ok, here is an idea! What about getting a group of skydivers together. Chip in on renting an airplane for 2 months. Fly around to different DZ's and jump. Renting the plane to the DZ's we visit if possible to cut some costs. If the weathers bad, fly somewhere it's better :)Anyone know if this would be possible? What would this costs for each skydiver, and what plane would be the best airplane to hire?
Could be two months that rocks big time B|

Sounds like an idea, but renting an airplane that we are renting probably wouldn't go over too well with the FBO we rent it from. And assuming you were talking about renting it to the DZ's as a jump airplane, well that wouldn't work for a few reasons. The need to rip out all the seats/door to make it jumpable.

Most places you could rent an airplane from have a 3 hour daily minumum hour charge (at around $118 for a C-182). A better plan would be to find somebody to lease an airplane from, but I think that would be difficult, at best too. I'm not trying to be the source of gloom here, I think it would be a blast and would love to do something like that. When I started skydiving a group of us would rent a 172 and fly to semi close DZ's once every couple of weeks. Much better than driving except for the no post jump beer for the pilot [:/]
