Pammi 0 #1 June 6, 2002 After a very long drive, a few not-too-serious mishaps and lots and lots of sweat, we are here! The house is gorgeous Merrick found for us, the area is perfect for us, and I've already went to a couple of interviews. What a beautiful place NC is! We're living in an area that is growing like crazy...still small (we're back on dial-up because we're even outside of the small town-cool little community though...perfect for the kids when they get home) but you can see construction going on everywhere. We spoke with someone who said he was the 5th house in his area, and two years later there are now 400!!! Crazy! Time to go check out Raeford and see about getting a hook-up on my reserve getting packed (or traded for something that WILL fit) before whatever meet they have going on this weekend. Wendy, I'll be calling you today sometime too! Woohoo!'Nuthin

nws01 0 #15 October 3, 2002 So tell me a little more about NC? What are you all doing for work, etc? I will be through there soon and I may stay for awhile.
 Pammi 0 #16 October 3, 2002 Oh hey! I was shocked to see this one back up at the top :) I LOVE NC, and I haven't even done half of what is there to do. We live outside Raleigh, about 30 min drive to work, a bit more for Merrick, but it only took me about 3 weeks to find work. Merrick wasn't able to do any better as far as IT work, it's just as bad here as everywhere else where that's concerned, but he still got a good job that he's enjoying. The first thing I noticed is the people here. Raleigh had a younger 'professional' group so you get taken a little more seriously then back in OK. You had to be at least mid-30's before they felt like you had anything interesting to contribute. Everyone seems to be from somewhere else too. Just in my office alone (I'm working at a law firm) there is maybe a couple of people actually from the NC area. So everyone is super helpful and interesting because of it's so varied. Now we haven't been to CSS yet (*gasp* I know! Damn $$ issues...next year, dammit, it WILL be better!) but have been to Raeford several times. The Monkey is an ass....er...just kidding :) Honestly, we felt SO welcome at Raeford. People there have been so terrific..it's one of the reasons we haven't been to CSS yet, we just enjoy being at Raeford so much! Chuckie still thinks I'm a good girl He hasn't seen me much when the kids aren't around! Hmm..what else can I say... There's not as much wind here as in OK...I had to get used to those faster landings :) Give us a hollar if you get out here!! We both have jobs again, which the creditors are enjoying immensely (at least they will be when it's actually their turn to get some $$ ..hehe) and are getting to know the place. Now that the weather is cooling off, it's gorgeous! (although even when it was hot, it wasn't THAT hot!) My dad keeps telling me that now I've had my little 'adventure' and it's time to come home.
