Don't Log & Drink.....

Recommended Posts

Oh man did I learn a lesson last night. So I grabbed my log books and started flipping through them just kinda um flippin...yeah... so any way I come to this one entry where i had transposed a number thus sending every entry after that off by that amount... doh!!!:S... So I figure to be safe I'll start from the very begging (jump #1) any really clean this up. Let's just say I could not finish last night. I screwed up on more than one occasion.

So the moral of the story.... Log your jumps before you get too drunkB| Hahaha...

So do people out there log jumps? Do you do it right away after every jump? At the end of the day? Just do it on your computer? Don't log at all?

I log every one of my jumps with what I did student names, etc... i just gotta be more careful counting:P

I usually do it at the end of the day. I like to write down what I actually did on the skydive, who I jumped with, and anything signmificant. Writing it down at the end of the day allows me to remember all that stuff.

Seb, how off were your numbers. You told me you have 1700 dives. It would suck if you were so drunk that in the process of logging you screwed up so bad that in reality you only have 170:PB|

Someone gave me the best idea ever. I carry around a little piece of paper and write quick notes, then when i log at the end of the day i can look at my piece of paper and not forget what i did.

Pro-track.

I got my D license mostly so I could log my own jumps. I'd go back through my log against my pro-track and I'd be 20 behind. D-license holders would then hold my logbook hostage to good beer.

That is the reason to do the night jumps. And carry a hook knife, and have an RSL.

It's Friday, right?

That's what I do Sunshine. I write all my jumps on a piece of scrap paper then log at the end of the day.

OMG, Sebazz responded directly to me!!! I knew building the Sebazz shrine of worship would pay off someday.

I did that once. It was when I was doing AFF and I had been jumping every 4 weeks. I had neglected to log a few, so I went to write in the info. I filled in the headers first, putting them one a month. I realized that there were four months since the last log, but I had only done three jumps. Then I remembered that we got weathered out. So now my logbook has a bunch of crossed out stuff in the beginning. The lesson was to always log on the day that you jumped.

Now I log my jumps the day that I do them. The only problem is that some of my jumps are sounding pretty dull when I log them. No more solos, I guess!

I'm all about logging my jumps! I get made fun of (not just for this) about it frequently, but to me, it's like a diary of sorts (which I also keep...so I'm a dork...oh well.)

Anyways, I try to log right after my jumps. This is difficult sometimes (especially at Rantoul...I used packers so that I had time to log!)

The super fun fun cool idea for log books that I stole from Jaime at sgc is using those I-Zone camera pictures to make my uninteresting book even more fun!

Everyone tells me this is all useless. But, I figure, when I'm a 90-year old crazy woman telling stories about jumping outta planes...at least I have some sorta proof, and maybe they won't send me to the nursing home so quick!

Oh! One other thing I do...especially when I'm at a new dz....log during the day, get really drunk, then wander around, meet new people, and have them sign my log book at night! It tends to be fun!
There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
