Chris [clearing throat]Ahem...[/clearing throat] It was not A Para-Performance event. It was the first event run by Pro Swooping Tour. PST was formed this summer by Jim Slaton and Lyle Presse. Their events will now all be run under one set of rules. The swoop event at WFFC and one in New England were used by the pair to work out the kinks. I think the next year should be very exciting for the swoop troops! Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them? SBS 0 #4 October 7, 2002 Well, regardless of what they were called, here is the short of what happened: Team speed was the first event that PD took easily. Speeds were insane. They were loaded up at about 2.5:1 and just rocked. A team of instructors from Perris took second, and don't know who took 3rd. Second event was distance...Xaos took first with some incredible distances. TJ shined for that team, but they all did great. Second was PD. Heath's total score for 3 rounds was over 1000 feet. One of their members had 2 verticals, so no score, and they still took second place. Don't know who took 3rd. I believe the longest swoop of the meet was in the neighborhood of 350 feet, and belonged to Sonic...I may be wrong, though...TJ was touching down in that area as well. The zone accuracy was the third day. I didn't take a good look at those results. I think Xaos took first and PD took second. One of the PD guys had a reserve ride on the last round so did a rejump. Had the rhythm not been thrown off, it probably would have been a different game. Anyway, final tally, Xaos was in first, PD in second, and the Icarus guys from here in Perris were 3rd. It was a great competition. Looking forward to what Jim and Lyle put together next. -Steve_____________ I'm not conceited...I'm just realistic about my awesomeness...
