wlie 0 #26 October 7, 2002 Has she used up her "pratical training"? Every graduating foreign student is grated 1 year by the government to get practical work experience in their field of study before being sent back. And during this time, if they're worthy enough to get sponsored by their employer, they could get a work visa valid for 3 years, and a 3 year extension thereafter. So if she gets employed and the whole H-1B work visa deal goes though, she'll have until 2009 before deportation. My other ride is the relative wind. jfields 0 #27 October 7, 2002 QuoteH-1B H-1B visas aren't always easy to get. There is a lot of paperwork to go through, and the rejections seem kind of arbitrary.
wlie 0 #28 October 7, 2002 True that it's a lot of paperwork. It costs a lot of money too. What's worse is finding an employer who is willing to go thru hell for your application. But I'm just suggesting another alternative that's more legit. Another alternative is luck. Believe it or not, the State department gives away green cards by means of a diversity lotto each year. Here's their link.My other ride is the relative wind.
konradptr 0 #29 October 7, 2002 I say go for it... Look how effective the INS is along the Mexican border!!! The worst thing that can happen is that you get some nice tail for the next couple years... As far as the problem if you meet someone and really fall in love? If you are a skydiver, it is best to avoid that at all costs anyway!!! ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......
