dp1l 0 #1 October 8, 2002 I found this site, http://www.metcheck.com/30dayselectarea.asp (UK site) that gives 30 day weather forecasts. I don't expect it to be all that reliable, but does anyone have any experience with long term weather forecasts for planning jumps?
nacmacfeegle 0 #2 October 8, 2002 "any experience with long term weather forecasts for planning jumps" They are usually crap...... Best to go with the aviation mets, or even the weather page here....on this very website!!!!-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. fly 0 #3 October 8, 2002 Weather forecasting is astrology with numbers - and just as reliable. Weatherforecasters - don't trust'em.... "Thou shall not take thine altitude for granted for the earth shall rise up and smite thee."

ScottishJohn 25 #7 October 8, 2002 I wouldn't trust a forecast that forecast for 5 days or more and I would only believe these forecast if they came from a reputable orginisation. A three day forecast is usually ok for general needs but it is difficult to get a forecast that is tailor made for skydiving (unless you pay for it). A general pupose aviation forecast will probably be the best you could hope for at the moment. The web site you quoted was very pretty but i wouldn't give you 2p for any information older than 3 days. Apart from that it's very general weather conditions it is giving you. john---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you think my attitude stinks you should smell my fingers
