kinney29 0 #1 October 8, 2002 What a way to end with a bang. Today was our brigade Iron Soldier Competition. Start with a standard Army PT Test ...except BDU Pants and brown T-Shirt. Up hill 2-mile run, with a buddy. Change into Boots, BDU top and soft cap. 6-mile Ruck march, again with buddy. My ruck was only 45 pounds though. Than run through a mile long obstacle course, still with your buddy. My buddy was dying at the end of it. But I felt great knowing that it was my last day doing PT. Next stop Indy. jfields 0 #3 October 8, 2002 Quote But I felt great knowing that it was my last day doing PT. Do yourself a favor: keep exercising. Even if you don't get up at oh-dark thirty and do it in combat boots, don't quit completely out of rebellion. I did, and it was moronic. I'm still not in as good a shape as I was then. If I had stuck with something on a regular basis, I would have been much better off. Just a thought....
kinney29 0 #4 October 8, 2002 I still go to the gym almost every afternoon. I gotta stay in shape or it would upset me too much.
jfields 0 #5 October 8, 2002 I just had a major case of "Oh yeah, well, F(*^ you, Army, I don't have to do that stuff any more."
SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 October 8, 2002 Yep, if it were not for my incredibly fast metabolism, I would certainly be a complete pig by now. I have not done any organized PT in over 4 years. I am still in great shape, though, from all the work I do on the DZ. Terminal Leave commences on 26 January. That is all. Azul sends

SkymonkeyONE 4 #8 October 8, 2002 Nope, you wouldn't want to get man-boobs like Clayton Fowler, esquire. Wait a minute: he had those when he was in the airforce......Oh, never mind. Just playing, my monkey brother.
mujie96 0 #9 October 8, 2002 I work out MORE when I don't have to show up for some lame organized PT designed for people who are struggling to pass. I can't wait to be able to roll out of bed and RUN without interference from people who feel the need to be LOUD in the early am. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
