jtval 0 #1 October 10, 2002 hey, does anyone know how I can change the property of my video clips? My digital camera has the video opiton but I am trying to make/edit a video but this type of video cant be imported to msn video makerMy photos My Videos
chachi 0 #2 October 10, 2002 Digital video is digital video from what I know excluding different world territories as PAL / NTSC. Are you sure that the properties in the video software are set up to recieve your camera? It is typically a hardware conflict issue not a importing the wrong signal issue. On the other hand there are many inexpensive capture cards / software with way more powerful and easy to use tools than MS video maker. I have never personally seen a computer not accept digital video based on the wrong type of video from a camera. Maybe other camera fliers have seen this before and have more exp than I do. I would also suggest posting this or moving this post to the camera flying section as you will have the most people with expertise in this area reviewing the posts. ~

jtval 0 #5 October 11, 2002 yes, I was looking to build a video from some of my clips but i cant find anything that will allow me to format the video to an editing porgramMy photos My Videos
Cajones 0 #6 October 11, 2002 I would never recommend doing anything illegal, but you can download a copy of Adobe Premiere from Morpheus or Kazaa. Just make sure you buy a valid license for it, before you actually use it. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
jtval 0 #7 October 11, 2002 i tried adobe 6.0 and the >mov file wont import to the edit board! My photos My Videos
ernokaikkonen 0 #8 October 11, 2002 >i tried adobe 6.0 and the >mov file wont import to the edit board! No matter what program you're using, you need to have Apple's Quicktime installed. All the other programs use the bits that are installed with Quicktime. I have zero experience with digital video-editing, but when I tried to figure out a way of watching mov.s on my work computer without installing Quicktime, I couldn't find one. It's a free DL from Apple's site. Erno
nacmacfeegle 0 #9 October 11, 2002 I'll try and sort something out for you later, I'm pretty sure Prem can handle mov format files, one thing to try meantime tough...check how you are capturing the video..the project settings must match the capture settings...Or alternatively can you describe exactly what you are trying to achieve here..... Quicktime should have installed as a plug in with Prem 6-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. ernokaikkonen 0 #10 October 11, 2002 So is there some way I can install QT without installing QT? I'm using NT4 at work and I don't have admin-priviledges, so the installation package from Apple wont install.
nacmacfeegle 0 #11 October 11, 2002 I don't think so Erno, I'm stuck with the same prob here....Can't see mov files. However my toys at home are all set up for video editing...As a minimum you would need to make registry changes to install the codecs, and from memory, you need to be an administrator. I'm not that good on network stuff so somebody else such as Aggs or Zennie might know for sure... sorry -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. I can make changes to the registry. I know I could install qt on some NT machine I have admin-rights on, check the registry-settings, copy them and the necessary files by hand, but... it's just too much trouble. I can view movs at home. It did take 122 minutes to DL Tom's lineover-video though...Erno
nacmacfeegle 0 #13 October 11, 2002 "It did take 122 minutes to DL Tom's lineover-video though." Man, I admire your patience, anything longer than 20 minutes and I generally go away and sulk.....Not everyone has high speed connections, I'm still on 56k dial up at home...And, sorry I can't really help you with the QT stuff, ...pooters? I fly them, I don't fix em... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. ernokaikkonen 0 #14 October 11, 2002 >Man, I admire your patience, anything longer than 20 minutes and >I generally go away and sulk..... So did I. I just left it downloading and went to do something else... And after an hour I just had to know how long it's going to take. Nice vid, I'm really looking forward to the realtime version. jtval 0 #15 October 11, 2002 wow , um thnaks for trying to help. I havent installed premiere since i got back to the states. I figured it was a dea cause for me. but I do still have It. I remember the QT was a plug in for Adobe prem 6.0. but i couldnt import my videos. heres what i was doing. I would take videos form my digital cam disc and install them to my (D:\) drive then i would try to import them to edit etc. I dont remember the exact error but It would not go. I tried the capture toption and that only seemed to be the optiion to use your computer cam to record new stuff. that wasnt waht i needed to do. I wanted to get the already existing vid to the cutting board so I could edit and a soundtrackand some effects. I swear I felt stupid, so I walked away with my spine tucked neatly between my legs, holding my pride cupped in my hands as it slowly dripped out to nothing. needless to say I am still wiating for my new order of pride and patience to arrive, that stuff is expensive.( but I rush ordered it) My photos My Videos
ernokaikkonen 0 #16 October 11, 2002 >I remember the QT was a plug in for Adobe prem 6.0. AFAIK(and remember I'm no video expert), the plugin just allows Premiere to use the already installed bits of QT on your system. Do you have QT installed? Can you _play_ the .movs? mountainman 0 #17 October 11, 2002 You can import several types of files into Premiere. Just buy the program and make sure you allow it to install all aspects of it so it will support them all. You may want to try from a demo if you can find one on the Adobe website. Not sure if they offer a demo.http://www.brandonandlaura.com
