algboy 0 #29 October 11, 2002 "we've had people ask us to sell stolen gear for them in the past. It's loads of fun to have the stuff and tell them "sorry, but we gave it back to the rightful owner." Oh man, I smell a serious "sting operation" going down!! Why not offer to sell "on consignment" used skydiver gear, get their names, addresses and ph #s, track down rightful owners and-------BUST their sorry a$$es. And maybe...um....cops don't even need to get involved.............“Keep your elbow up!"

dove 0 #31 October 12, 2002 Sad. No one is safe. I was at Sebastian for the Search in 2001 and I remember some stuff kept disappearing here and there. The worst was when a little girl's allowance money was stolen from her little play purse. Unbelievable. But unfortunately, totally true. I hope the pissants are found and punished and the stuff returned to its owners unharmed. Fall in dove.
Zennie 0 #32 October 12, 2002 I found out about this second-hand too. It never ceases to amaze me the depths some people will stoop. And it's a shame that you can't leave stuff out in the open anymore at the DZ for fear of it getting swiped. There are so many good people in this sport. But just like everything else, one or two bad ones spoil it for everyone. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon

WmLauterbach 0 #34 October 12, 2002 I had a camera suit walk off at work recently... I went on leave to go make a few skydives in Mexico... when I came back WHAM... one of my suits was missing. Stealing skydiving gear is just bad karma!
