Recommended Posts

Your in a public place with your wife and you run into an old girlfriend. What do you do???I was at a hockey game last night with the wife and kids and I ran into an ex.We talked a little bit(I was alone). When I got back to the wife I told her "remember I told you about...".Im honest with my wife and just in case we were to run into her in the future, well, you know.Man,next thing I know, she HAS to see her.WTF ?Im thinkin I should have kept my mouth shut but bein as she just moved back in town we may just run into each other again I thought I was playin it safe.
If a man speaks and there is no woman around to hear him,is he still wrong???

Of course your wife wants to get a look at your ex! That has nothing to do with trust, insecurity, jealousy or how solid your relationship is. At this point, its just plain old curiosity, so try not to read too much more into it! Don't you wonder a bit about your wife's exes??

Oh, and in answer to your second question.... YES!;)

Your wife simply wants to see how she "measures-up" to your former squeeze. Men are more insecure when it's the other way around.

why would you wanna create that kinda atmosphere? who carwes what your or you S/O ex's are like. as long as they arent still stalking then its all in the past Its best to leave it there IMHO!

Where,in this particular situation,if its a physical or an age comparison,I am fucked. Its not really a big deal,I hope,it was just WAY weird.I was just curious as to what some others would do .Keep yer mouth shut?Run?Just throw it out there? This does have a skydiving twist. The ex asked how I broke my leg and I told her Skydiving. That kinda floored her.It was funny to me cause I have lost that"Look at me,I skydive"thing that a lot of us feel when we are new to the sport.

First, it isn't necessarily about wanting to see how you "measure up" against the other person. Sure, some women are like that, but not all of us. Sometimes you just want to know a little more about your "so's" last big relationship, or maybe you've heard enough about it that you just want to know what that person looks like. Its only human to be curious!

I've been both the "current" and the "ex" in similar situations. (oddly enough with the same guy- he really means the "we can still be friends" thing!:)
For the record, I think you did the right thing by telling her. Not mentioning it would have been a huge mistake, if there is even the slightest chance you will bump into her again, and it sounds like there is.
