AggieDave 6 #26 October 14, 2002 Hit mode till you get to the screen showing you your jump #'s and freefall total, hit set 3 times, use mode to scroll through each piece (number, hr, min, sec) and change using set. I've taken to putting my pro-track in a pocket when doing hop-n-pops or CReW, etc. so I wouldn't have to do this every weekend. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #27 October 14, 2002 50($ of liquor drank):8:0 Pretty good weekend considering today was a waste due to weather. Mike Gahan benifit went well, although I didn't make it home under my own power at the end of the night. Drank around 12 shots and an unknown number of beers in the course of about 2 1/2-3 hours. Had fun, though. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Cornholio 0 #28 October 14, 2002 Quote 4 of the longest damn spots I've ever had (no go arounds) man ya know they are long when your muscles are burning from hanging on the rear risers for so long. Yeah, I know exactly what you mean, BB. I had two of those today. Our spotter is known for not making the wrong call, but shit happens - twice My hands were sore from hanging onto those mothas for a good 3-4 minutes to get back. Edit: Actually, these spots were early, not late. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! skybytch 273 #31 October 14, 2002 Billions and billions (the number of people on the dz at Perris today):4:0 Three jumps Saturday. Went low on a 29 way for the first one - the suit is not only freakin' pink, it's freakin' FAST! Took a sweet four way diamond off the tail of the Skyvan as the base for a two point 28 way that ended with a BFR. Okay, so it was more like a BFSquare... but it was kewl! . Third one was a 30 way that didn't complete. One today - a 52 way. The girl in front of me got smushed back in the door and I couldn't push her out or get by her so I ended up leaving last - my slot was docking on a twelve way... I dove like a madwoman, got there, found my slot, corrected my fall rate, worked my way in and had my dock just at 5500 - break off for the outside. Helped with JFTC registration for a few hours this afternoon. The POPS didn't get their record but there was a cool five plane flyby after their last dive - CASA, the three Perris Otters and the Kapowsin Otter. Gotta be at the dz by 7:30 am tomorrow... FallingILweenie 0 #32 October 14, 2002 0:6:0 Friday was perfect, the rest of the weekend, not so much. Was actually on 2 belly fly jumps...a 4 pt 5 way that was lots of fun. It's easier for me to dock headdown than on my belly, though. blue ones Tomas

skycat 0 #35 October 14, 2002 5 people that had gaurdian angels this weekend:5:1 5 jumps or more like 5 combat RW dives, whoever had the bright idea that I should be in the back corner of the otter and launch out with the base should be shot. Thank god I can dive since I finally got out of the hole with the late divers, but since I was able to dock before the others that were to dock on the base at the same time as me, I guess it really wasn't an issue. Made 5 attempts at the NM state record, but the weather screwed us this morning so Derek and I bolted out of there so we wouldn't have to pay for the hotel for tonight. Damn I got a hotel room and didn't even get hotel sex. Fly it like you stole it!
indyz 1 #36 October 14, 2002 0:0:0 I finally had money and I didn't jump. But as of Saturday, I'm no longer on of those damned teenagers, so that's cool.
FallinWoman 1 #37 October 14, 2002 Ok...I swear this is the last week that my middle number will be zero.....I have to jump or I will simply lose my mind!!! 0:0:0 0: Marc worked at the firehouse all weekend (he did visit earlier in the week, though.....) 0: Day 49 of being sick...although I am better. My number one goal right now is making it through a full day of work tomorrow.... 0: no jumps, no firsts....Anne

Kris 0 #39 October 14, 2002 Sorry to hear about the GF, Pablo. But knowing you, you'll have no probs finding another nice girl. Or a not so nice girl depending on your mood. Keep your head up. As for me: 1:3:0 The 1 is for "The CRW load that God forgot". Let's just say that I was first out, I was under a fully inflated canopy three seconds after I left the step and I got to spend most of the dive in the freezing cold chasing those who weren't quite as fast on the pitch. It was still fun, almost had a dock on one of them but we hit breakoff. The other two were sweet sit-flys and one was with hand-held streamers on all of us. It would have been even better if we had remembered video.Next weekend...NIGHT JUMPS! WooHoo! Can't wait. The landing area at my DZ is so well lit at night it's amazing, so hopefully we can all keep it safe. Kris 0 #41 October 14, 2002 Quote And with my luck, I'd land just off the main landing area... That's it, jinx me, Tex... Actually, I've been no more than 10-feet from the target on my last 20 jumps so I'm really happy with my accuracy right now. Of course, on the actual night-jump I am now going to land one county over since I was just dumb enough to state that... AggieDave 6 #42 October 14, 2002 Sort of like one of my night jumps. Had a minor malfunction that took a little bit of time to clear, had eaten too much altitude and had to land at the end of the airport. That's about a mile from the hanger (as you know). One of those landings where you're still "on" the airport but you really landed off.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." CanuckInUSA 0 #43 October 14, 2002 Yup I witnessed some of those guardian angels at work that skycat speaks of. Here's my numbers: 0:5:2 I just don't seem to have a whole lot of luck lately with that first category (sure doesn't help when most of the people attending a boogie are male). I got five jumps in on Saturday with my brand spanking new rig at the Skydive New Mexico boogie. It's a bummer that I didn't get any jumps in on Sunday (mother nature wasn't looking kindly upon us skydivers then). But five is better than none. I brought two cases of beer (Fat Tire) for all of the firsts I did at this boogie. Now if I would just drink less and sleep more. Kris 0 #44 October 14, 2002 I'm not taking any chances. I'm packing my Stiletto in my own CRW style. I just barely cloverleaf the slider with no pocket in it, all nose cells presented, and I don't roll the tail. Brisk (but smooth) 300-footer every time, even from terminal. If she does start to go over that I just give her a nudge with the rear risers but I doubt I'll touch them unless I have a good horizon reference. AggieDave 6 #45 October 14, 2002 My "malfunction" was a toggle that popped out on opening, but then proceeded to wrap its self through/around/behind/under/over/etc the brake line and the rear riser. It took me a while to clear b/c it was dark.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
AndyMan 7 #46 October 14, 2002 0:0:0 One champagne laden flight to Toronto for Canadian thanksgiving, a few hours at the airport nudie bar waiting for my brother, a handfull of family dinners... one ford mustang ripped apart on saturday, a second one assembled on sunday. Three nights of complete drunkeness in Toronto. I EVEN went bowling!?!?!?! No jumps, no nookie, no firsts - and a completely AWESOME weekend so far. The best part is that I'm not expected back at work until Wedesday. YeeHaw! _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
Snowbird 0 #47 October 14, 2002 1:2:0 1 potluck Thanksgiving dinner at the dropzone, happily consumed by thankful jumpers after a GORGEOUS day of skydiving. The weather was so nice, I was packing outside in my halter top. 1 coach2 jump; 1 hop'n'pop. I was load filler on a first jump load, and one of the students was my hubby! I just had to be on that load. Very cool to be there and see him go out for his first jump. He did awesome! Low number of jumps was directly related to my hubby doing his FJC. No real firsts today. Followed the landing pattern and sorta did a downwinder, if you can count it when there was barely any wind at all. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein
Vallerina 2 #48 October 14, 2002 only 40 minutes from door to desk today!:6:4 First tracking dive First time making Skydiving...a picture of a 20-way that I did at Skydive Greene County over Labor Day weekend I had a fun fun weekend drinking beers with friends and making fun of people! Brrr....it's chilly out there...I think I'm gonna have to invest in some decent gloves before I jump again. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
freeflir29 0 #49 October 14, 2002 0:7:0 Pretty nice weekend in spite of the weather and having a friend break his ankle. Poor guy....he's about to lose his job so he was going to start skydiving full time. Guess that's out the window for the near future. On the bright side...he's using his insurance while the company is still paying the bill. Lot's of cool free flying...now if I could just get these tall skinny people to go faster head down I'll be OK.
