nacmacfeegle 0 #3 October 16, 2002 At least he's popular somewhere in teh world. What was all that gobbledegook about the Kurds near the bottom of the article though....I take it they don't get to vote? I suppose their voting system is a little more efficient than the one used in Florida for the presidentials... -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. FallRate 0 #8 October 16, 2002 QuoteNo is HIGHLY discouraged Apparently after his last election, approximately 500 "dissenters" were jailed. Damned Hippie, Pinko, Muck-Rakers!!! That's what you get for messing with a "perfect democracy". FallRate

riddler 0 #11 October 16, 2002 Iraqi voting ballot: "Whom will you choose to be the next president of Iraq?" A. Saddam Hussein Some fun quotes from the article by people that are bad at math: "This referendum and the 100 percent shows that all Iraqis are ready to defend their country and leader" "We are not surprised with the 100 percent vote for the president" "Someone who does not know the Iraqi people, he will not believe this percentage"Trapped on the surface of a sphere. AggieDave 6 #12 October 16, 2002 Hey, I bet the Iraqies can use their ballot correctly though, unlike that one state... --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

FallRate 0 #15 October 17, 2002 I KNOW!!! For the love of God, we're seeking to destroy the single most beloved human being on the face of the Earth! What is wrong with us??? By the way, anyone watch Nightline tonight? Excellent piece on the Kurds. No wonder Iraq, Syria and Iran are so opposed to the creation of a Kurdish State...the Kurds ROCK!!! Over the last decade they have created a healthy, vibrant and tolerant society out of what the rest of the world would view as a wasteland. Of course, some thanks must be given to those War-Hungry British and American servicemen and women who have protected them from the daily threat of annihilation by patrolling that oppressive "no fly zone"...while the rest of the world has sat on it's collective ass!!! Once again...the Kurds ROCK!!! In case you're wondering...about 8 beers so far FallRate

FallRate 0 #18 October 17, 2002 Actually, that was one of those Carlin type rants...you really don't know exactly where I'm coming from...in other words, the sarcasm was mixed in. But I still say the Kurds ROCK!!! What an incredible spirit! FallRate
