AggieDave 6 #1 October 19, 2002 Yup, its just about 0500 here and I'm wide awake. Well, I did just get back from the girlfriend's place, but I'm too motivated about today to go to sleep, so I thought I'd share. We're (tamu jazz band) playing for a special event at Reed Arena here on campus, for something like 7,000 people at noon today. No, that's not anything like a Metallica stadium concert, but its the largest gig we've ever played as a group. That being said, since I'm Lead Trumpet, I have something like 5 solos and all the scream trumpet parts, so I'm getting really excited. Skydiving is the only thing I've found that can compare to the rush of performing music to a crowd. quatorze 1 #2 October 19, 2002 Dude, get out there and BREAK A LEG!!!! As your friendly neighborhood guitarist, I can empathize with the playing for the crowd feeling...it is a rush when you realize that they are listening and jamming and just plain getting down what you are doing. So one more time....BREAK A LEG edited bcause I am way to tired to be allowed near a keyboard I'm not afriad of dying, I'm afraid of never really living- Erin Engle

I never played to a crowd that big though. Have a good one!

I used to play in a few bands and I've often compared my "after skydive rush" to that of just finishing a gig; and I think the largest crowd I played for was 300. What a thrill, have fun Dave. .:skip

nws01 0 #10 October 19, 2002 The icing on the cake would be if you did a demo jump onto the stage and then played!
