.........and no, it's not my virginity. :)
I'm looking for a piece of software (freeware preferably but any will do) that allows you to manipulate a 3D human figure (stick figure or otherwise) into any pose required. Kind of like a computer artisit's mannequin. Does anyone know if such a piece of software exists and if so where I can get it.
Cheers.

In order for any program to do this you would need a 3d Visual taken of the object you plan to change into differ positions. Either done by someone else, or have the sensors and camera equip to record the data yourself. Either way your talking lots of money. Depending on your time and how many differ things you are looking to do with it you may be better off to get a good graphics editory like adobe photoshope and do some image altering, but without a good imaging expert you are not very likely to get the shadowing right.

Freeware or 'pirate ware'??

Poser does this for you, but its not free, maybe search for a trial version, or PM me to discuss further...;)

Thanks for that guys. Poser looks like a good piece of software, even if the title does sound a bit 'gay'. I'm not looking for anything too complicated or professional though. Looks like it will be back to my drawing board.

While you're at it, can anyone help me find my car keys tooo? I need to go to work!!!

They're real easy to spot. They have the push thing to detach into 2 sets, there's the lil black box for the alarm AND they're attached to an RSL loop. You can't miss them. Thanks

you don't have a lot of options if you're not willing to get too complicated. Poser is good, but if you're looking for some real nice stuff, you could use 3DS Max from Autodesk.
Even straight up autocad will work if you're not worried about seamless vertice connections.
Attached is a r12 version of a man, in both a sit position and standing, autocad drawing file (dwg). IF you're not familiar with autocad, what you'd want to do to rotate his joints would be to orient your UCS to the axis you want to rotate about, then select the arm for example, choose the shoulder as the base point and go from there. This isn't a solid model, just a surface TIN. Hope it helps ya.
