To go red or not to go red...that is the question

Ok, this rates real low on important topics for the day, but if you're bored, give me your opinion.

I usually color my hair at home with the $7 box from the store, and it drives my stylist crazy. So, since it's time to color again (damn grey hair!) and I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow, I thought I'd let her do it for a change. Lately I've been coloring it closer to my natural color, a brunette. But, Weid14 put the bug in my head that maybe I should let it go more red again, like my forum picture. So, what do you think...brown or red?

I'm bored, which is the only reason why I qualify to give an opinion on this so please feel free to dismiss it as easily as you would a flea's fart.
The hair in your icon seems to be a redder than your hair in your mugshot. Provided that the two piccies were taken near enough the same time, I would suggest that you go with the red, because for some reason it makes you look younger.

I personally don't like when people dye their hair red. It almost always looks fake, but if your stylist is really good and you like having red hair go for it. what ever makes you comfy and happy

Red is a fun color - as long as your stylist knows what he/she is doing......just remember that it fades easily so you have to keep up with it - also red hair looks really cool with blue eyes.......

I know better. I do. I grew up in a house full of women and I live in one now. But it's early and I'm on the other coast, so I may be safe.

Color to match the majority color of your roots. If your roots are really dark, and you use a lighter red, and you're coloring to cover grey, you can end up looking like a calico cat between refreshes.

Auburn maybe? That's a darker red, right?

Just expose that belly button more. Then the fellas won't remember what color your hair is!

I didn't know that. Good enough reason for me to switch brands. I've always beleived tests should be done on convicted murderers and rapists....but thats a whole 'nother issue.

those have always been my exact thoughts! freaky....we ppg's think so much alike!
I like Garnier so far. The conditioners left my hair so unbelievably soft...I couldn't stop running my fingers through my hair! It seems to be holding up ok; I am used to the reds fading but this one is doing ok...I give it 4 stars! I will use it again next week...

Actually i'm blonde right now, i thought i'd match my PPG picture. I have to do it every 2 weeks to keep up with it though!! I might have to go back to my light brown color...that one only requires touch ups every 4-6 weeks.

Here's something different...And it is fun to experiment with our hair isn't it? About a month ago I had medium golden blonde AND red hair colors applied over foil on different sections of my hair. This technique can add a lot of interesting and pretty highlights.

Hmmm....all good and very valid points, except for the red, white and black or shaving it. Sorry guys, you'll have to find another girl for those looks!

I think I'll go a few shades lighter than my dark brown for sure, just for something new. It definitely won't be the red where it actually ends up looking purple in some people's hair-yuck! I'll take a picture when I get back tomorrow and post it.
