thought for the day

Recommended Posts

I’ve noticed a lot lately, I’ve picked it up here on dz.com, with others I associate with outside of here, and also, within myself, what discouragement can do to someone. I have witnessed first hand, and experienced personally, withering confidence levels in ones self, due to extenuating circumstances, outside sources of BS that plagues our everyday lives, and really eats at our core. I know that I am going through this right now, and I know that I am not the only one. It is important not to let these things affect our core, even though at times this is a difficult task. We need to remember the following creed, we need to keep this with us and not lose sight of whom we really are. We are skydivers. We cannot let anyone take that from us. You all have told me this. When we are faced with a difficult situation and we feel ourselves fading, we cannot lose hold of our core. We get discouraged, distracted, hurt, and we give up is truly important, which could leave our dreams unfulfilled. It is difficult to do this, but we must never lose sight of our target, never let go of that feeling we have, the feeling in the door of the plane, the feeling of freefall, the feeling of a beautiful canopy ride where all it seems exists in the world is ourselves and the sky…no problems, no outside sources of BS to discourage us. Keep those feelings with you, because no one can ever take those from you unless you let them. The following notes are from a sermon I attended at church one August morning this past summer on a whim. I could not believe how fitting it was for me to walk into this on a lark. Whether you are religious or not, I hope that you can benefit from this creed.
  1. Remove any distractions.
  2. Remember the reward.
  3. Resist all discouragement
  4. Renew yourself daily.

I see some of us going through a difficult time right now. I hope this will help you, I hope you will remember this when you feel like giving up. That is my wish for you. :)
