AggieDave 6 #1 October 24, 2002 what an odd and meaningless life we lead we have goals and dreams hobbies and things people who we "love" all in all we march on every day as drones some claim to have found the secret the one thing that makes life worth what we claim its worth fitness, cars, money, love skydive, bike, camp, hike what is it really who is it really is there that one thing that can happily make life fresh and new is religion the answer to our problems are our problems rooted in endless, endless quest for religious meaning our dreams and goals lay before us shimmering in the sun waiting for our destination to their being, to the end at the end you see another goal another dream that lays shimmering just out of reach behind, behind the translucent wall allowing fleeting glances that that for a moment give us hope before the view is obscured by the dirt of living, gathering dustishly, greasily on the wall blocking our view, distorting our dreams, upon finally coming upon our goals glimmering in our eyes with closer inspection, do they still glitter the enameled lust of a dream aye what a thought under the surface the truth be known that we still lay waiting hoping, urning for the one destination that is not merely gilded but the real thing that gives meaning happiness, truth and beautiful love this we will find I think at least we will know if find it we do not, if its not there, in this eternal sleep smugly still we will lay knowing with a grin that tells not of the answer but merely that we know smirking, spiting the face of life we will soon know the answer good or bad, the answer will be ours --edited to pull sig line farther away, b/c its not part of what I wrote--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
