ColdDuck 0 #1 October 24, 2002 For those of you that are familiar with ebay. I am wondering if there is an auction in shich there is no reserve listed, is the seller obligated to sell that item at the end of the auction? Can't seem to find this info on their website yet. PhreeZone 20 #2 October 24, 2002 If there is no reserve and no min price, then the seller has to sell it for the highest bid even if its 1 cent. A company accidently had to sell some LCD monitors on ebay this year for about $85 each if i remember right and retail price was more then 400 each since the person keying in the add forgot to list a reserve price.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
aneblett 0 #3 October 24, 2002 HI, If there is no reserve set, then the seller is obligated to sell it to the highest bidder. AgeS.E.X. party #2 ..It is far worse to live with fear, than to die confronting it.

This is a pretty common scam. Buyers tend to lowball on reserve auctions to avoid getting burned, which means less cash for the buyer. So instead of risking not making enough money to break even on an item, or not selling it at all, they will set no reserve then refuse to sell (or demand more from the winner) if they aren't happy with the high bid. Void425 0 #5 October 24, 2002 If the seller let the auction close on its own and it says someone is high bidder they are obligated to sell to that bidder for the price listed. If they do not do this file a complaint against them and after they receive 3 complaints ebay suspends there account. The seller does have a right to end the auction on his own and cancel all bids before the last minute, its a low way to deal but it is done. If the bids are canceled and auction closed there is nothing you can do. But if he just closed it withou canceling the bids you can file a complaint. I am an avid buyer and seller on ebay and I have put most of the rules through the ringer with ebay. If you have trouble with a transaction feel free to email me the details at void425@attbi.com and I will tell you what you can do about the issue. Good Luck and Happy Ebaying.
