Paso Boogie ~ October 26&27, 2002

Recommended Posts

Daves Post on the AOT boggie reminded me about this little one on the west coast. The Paso Reunion. Now I am not an original Paso jumper but if anyone has a chance in the Northern Cali Bay Area or whatever spread the word. It'll be mellow, relaxed, Cessna 206 & Cessna 182 if needed.... Let us know!!!

Lummy, Jams, Cornholio, Duece, anyone else... Can you guys mention this or even post the page from Lisa's website up at BYRON, LODI, DAVIS, SANTA ROSA?? The favor will be repaidB|

I'll take care of Hollister and Monterey...

B|Nice plug Seb!

Yeah all you No.Cal. folks - actually all of you from everywhere - you're all welcome to join us, even if you have no idea where Paso Robles is. It's gonna be a fun weekend.

Star Farms is a kick ass place to jump into, hang out and party at; the crowd that used to jump at Paso are some really cool people; Lancaster Bomber reenactments are freakin' hilarious to be part of and/or watch; the beer will come in a keg and be good stuff; the safety meetings will occur behind the bathrooms.

Be there. Send your registration in now.

No.... there will be NO student jumps of any kind going on - no tandem, no AFF, no static line. Period. This is a weekend for skydivers and usedtabe skydivers.

I do NOT want to take on (or subject the land owner or aircraft owner(s) to) the liability for student jumps.

What?!?!? How DARE they schedule a boogie on the same weekend?!?!?! Ah well, no biggee. Most of the people who'll want to come to Paso aren't freefliers anyway.

Just try to fit 32 of your closet friends in a 182

Ferry fee for a 182/206 is a hell of a lot less than the ferry fee for a CASA... or an Otter... or a King Air...

We don't have access to a vehicle large enough to haul 30 jumpers from the landing area to the airport anyway.

Besides, I miss jumping Cessna's. Haven't jumped one since 1998. Cessna's are cool.B|

You silly girl. I want volunteer tandems to let me shoot really small videos of them at BYRON where I'll be posting your Cessna boogie poster.

I had a friend up a couple of weeks ago at Davis, from Perris, who had never jumped out of a non-turbine. We go off the strut of the 182 (it's a 182, right Lummy?) She falls like a stone, because she's never been in such low relative wind. We snuck some video of her asking "How do you do relative work our of one of these? How would you do a linked exit?" Oh, it was precious.

Cessna strut exits are the bomb-diggity-shiznit!

Cessna jumps rock!!! Cargo doors are cool, climbing out of one is sweet, climbing out on the strut of a 182 is a blast, launching a 3 or 4 way...good stuff.

How oftendo you get a chance to do a 2 way from 2,500 out of an Otter? Sebazz... :)

Oh, yeah, that one too...

I was thinking about the one that went:

"hey, we're at 2500 feet...you hop and pop and I'll film you"

Sebazz - "Ok"

Me (after exit) - "[ready, set, go] Ok, pull now...pull...nice...sweet...good opening...oh shit...[flip over]...OH SHIT!!!...mental note - don't forget when you are leaving an aircraft from low altitudes."

:)

Wooo hoooo!!! Yeeee hawwwwww!!!!

Why would anyone go to that big dz up north to jump out of a stinkin' CASA, when they could go to Paso and jump out of a C206? They may get more jumpers in the air on each load, but we'll have a helluva lot more fun. And that's guaranteed. After all. Me and Seb will be there.

We're gonna play Lancaster Bomber! ;)

Yeah baby!

Leaving directly from work tomorrow to drive up there and make final preparations. Amazed at how much little stuff is involved to pull off something like this - a place to play, a plane to play out of, how hard could it be? Damn hard is what I'm findin' out!

Seb, I'll call ya when I hit 46 East.

Woo hooo! Paso Robles, Star Farms and my "home air" - here I come!B|
