Ville, are you sure that there is no more story??? What about jumpmasters reprimands and your attitude for safety issues in past???
Well In my opinion I have never done any wrong or stupid actions. Allthough I have been the type of person who likes to ask and open something to question. Ofcourse jumpmasters might sometimes be irritated when "a 45 jump wonder" is making too much questions. But I would like to make clear that according to my memory I have always played by the safety rules and never broken rules.
So in my opinion this time "loosening the chest-strap" was the only time I have done something agaist regulations. (and it was not even intentional rule braking)
Only time before this I remember beeing spoken by the safetymanager in Hanko. This is the only reprimand I remember getting before banning. It was about riding a motorbike on the runway. Many other people had been driving on the runway before me, but they didnt seem to get any feedback from it. One of the jumpmasters on our club said me before I started the engine : "just check the airspace and its ok. Have fun" So In a way I had a permission for it.
Maby this was an incidet wich created my bad image among the "club crew"
Please refresh my memory If there is some other reprimands or expamles of my safety attitude.
And you didn't tell how your chest strap was after loosening. We want to hear more!
Do you mean how much did I loosen it ? Not nearly to the end like people usually do. Maby about 10cm. And no.. It didnt really improve the flight charasteristics of a sabre 150

Well anyways as I said .. No hard feelings towards anyone. I was just a bit disapointed to get such a sanction.

I ment that it was twisted trough chest buckle... You sure know who is responsible afterwards after checking student's equipments before jump, don't you?
"I agree this was a stupid action and is not acceptable for students. "
You are reading my mind...

Hey, people have got even "rest of the season grounded"-sanctions. And you have jumped after that this year, did you?

I'm curious. I'm a new jumper (11 jumps so far) and I don't understand loosening your chest strap. I was taught that it should be loose to do your arch. Can someone please clarify for me? Tks.![]()
i been sitting back reading these posts, and finally, someone said something that makes sense........i was wondering how long it would take for someone to make that point......
i would always listen to new jumpers saying , im having a hard time arching hard, what can i do to go faster......id say, lean back hard, go on, arch right now.....and while they were leaning back id give their chest strap buckle a quick flip, and poof, instant more arch. loosening a chest strap is not dangerous, and it should be somewhat loose, AS LONG AS IT IS FASTENED CORRECTLY AND HAS A STOP
