jose 0 #1 October 27, 2002 Ok, so skydivingmovies.com kicks ass. Lotza content there to see, but my question is, how can I get to watch the movies without all the pausing during play? It doesnt seem to load as fast as it plays. I have a cable modem, so its pleanty fast enough. Anyone? Peaje
quade 4 #2 October 27, 2002 It's not really a real-time server, so you need to download the clips to your hard drive first.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
pilotdave 0 #3 October 27, 2002 I can't figure out why windows media player isn't smart enough to buffer the proper amount for smooth play. But anyway, you can either download the files to your hard drive then play em, or you can open them in media player (or whatever) and wait for them to fully download before playing them. Just hit stop when they open and wait till the download bar is done, then hit play. To download them, right click on the file you want and hit "save target as" or something like that. The speed seems to have increased quite a bit (at least to me) recently, but it still tends to be a bit slower than a cable modem is capable of. Still a whole lot better than it was when it was running out of my college dorm room! Dave
jose 0 #4 October 28, 2002 Dave, the man. Hey, kudos to such a bitchen ftp site. I cant even begin to tell you how many hours I have spent watching your stuff. Its the next best thing to actually jumping. I have gained visual experience on what is a mal and how others deal with them in the cutaways section. I tell ya, I feel better just knowing that I can visualize what is a ball of shit that is not recoverable/fixable. Thanks again.
mountainman 0 #5 October 28, 2002 Dave - I think with the FTP format, you actually choose "copy to folder". That is what I have to do. :)http://www.brandonandlaura.com
pilotdave 0 #6 October 28, 2002 Ahh, if you view ftp sites in "folder mode," you're right. I prefer the old browser style FTP that just turns it into a web page. But yeah, most people probably have to use copy to folder. Good point. Dave
