wildblue 7 #1 October 29, 2002 It's election time. I even try to avoid TV because I get so tired of all the damn ads. And most of the time, no one says why you should vote for them, they say why you shouldn't vote for the other person. Oh, and here's a good one - I saw one this morning that was going on and on about this lady judge who wanted to be something else important, and how she was going to put an end to frivolous lawsuits. They keep flashing back to these two lawyer looking guys who keep saying "Let's say you're stealing hubcaps, and the car moves and rolls over your hand, you could sue!" I didn't catch the other one, but I think it was something about tripping over your own child and suing. In the corner of the screen, it says big enough to see "Actual Lawsuits" Ok lady, if you're stupid enough to believe something you read in a forwarded email AND work it into one of your commercials... hell no I'm not going to vote for you!it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

billvon 3,088 #12 October 29, 2002 Nowadays I watch political ads to decide who _not_ to vote for. If they spend all their time denigrating the other person, what does that say about what they'll do once they get elected?

Like someone said up there, attack ads WORK, and if they're the only way to get into office, well...I'd be really disappointed if someone with great vision stood no chance of being elected because he or she was determined to run a polite campaign.Skydiving is for cool people only

The pisser here is that I don't even have to go to work! I was going to fly along for a military contract SL operation yesterday, just for shits and grins, but we were IFR and just cancelled instead. Can't wash my dog; he will just roll around in the mud. Can't move furniture; it's RAINING! Don't feel like partying. Wait, did I just say that? How about that hot little bar tender that used to work at Ms. Kitty's. I used to sit in there and laugh hysterically because she would show me her boobies for $5. Although they were nice....after the first time it was purely to laugh at the fact that she would do this on command for $5. Funny shit!!! Anyway...have no fear...the clouds broke here about an hour or two ago. You guys might see the sun before it goes down.

In Ireland, it would be pitch black by four in the afternoon in the winter. The flipside, though, was the summer sun until past ten at night. When I lived in Florida, there was very little difference between the summer and the winter. The days were about the same length, and the seasons were "rainy" and "less rainy."
