AggieDave 6 #1 October 30, 2002 Got to finally jump again today, but man is it muddy. Had a beautiful setup, nice approach, planed the canopy out perfectly, but when I went to put my feet down...*squiiiisssshhh* I left a huge mud skid where I didn't have traction and PLFed (from being turned by the skidding mud) right on my rig. Did I mention that I don't like the mud? Yup, my shiney new rig is a really un-shiney brown color. Atleast I was able to get most of it off with some paper towels when I got back to the hanger, but I'm going to have to attack my rig with a stiff brush tomorrow to really get it out. Atleast my colors are black and forrest green, so it'll look good again.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #3 October 30, 2002 "Spaceland, we're the swoop pond DZ" "cool, you have a swoop pond?" "No, we have a hanger in the middle of a lake..." Yeah, last time I was down there, I had to pull 2 pussy trucks (read: fords) out of the mud with a real truck (read: my chevy). --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Kris 0 #4 October 30, 2002 Heh. Been there, done that. Hope you ScotchGuarded her well. I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I had my entire Mirage trim-taped with white... I'll wait until February then she's getting a well-needed Woolite bath. Kris

scottbre 0 #6 October 30, 2002 Quote but I'm going to have to attack my rig with a stiff brush tomorrow to really get it out My rigger says that using a stiff brush to get mud off of a rig is a bad idea. Because the brush damages the cordura, and makes it start to get fuzzy. The best thing that he suggests is let it completely dry and then take a vacuum to it. Just use the rounded end of the hose, without any attachments and pull it across the dirty area. Anyway, we had to do it with my rig one time after I had been dragged through a field and it works (without hurting the material). "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!" Deuce 1 #9 October 30, 2002 Yeah, don't use the stiff brush. It will make the cordura fuzzy. Let it dry and then vacuum it and use a rough cloth like terry or something. I did the brush thing on my new Wings and it made the cordura fuzzy.
