robzay 0 #4 October 30, 2002 What a shitty way to go. Hopefully the person is doing a backstroke to some island, kicking up their heals and letting the gear dry.

Being fanned with Palm tree leaves by hoo-la girls!!! Seriously though, this is pretty shitty. My heart and thoughts to the jumper and family/friends. It amazing that something like this can still happen in this sport... The article says winds were low at the time of jump but they landed a mile south of the intented area... Does this seem odd? mccordia 74 #8 October 30, 2002 Just like tripleX, another brainless action movie which takes the life of a skydiver in a 'stunt' jump for the film. It's almost starting to look like a trend, one I hope that doesn't set through. My condoleances to his friends and family.JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? goose491 0 #13 October 30, 2002 QuoteHarry O'Conner died doing the bridge stunt. I haven't see the movie... Is it the base jump, off the car, off the bridge? What went wrong? My Karma ran over my Dogma!!!
AggieDave 6 #14 October 30, 2002 A sort of parasailing base jump from a car to a boat that was pulling the canopy/jumper under a bridge. I don't know if I can really explain it...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
robzay 0 #15 October 30, 2002 <> The stunt was a cable slide from a round to a submarine under a bridge. Tragically he mistimed it on the second try, they already had it in the can, thought he could do it better. The jump in this thread is a shame, sounds like people landed everywhere, water, inland, everywhere.
PhreeZone 20 #16 October 30, 2002 >Tragically he mistimed it on the second try I think it was the 12 try that Harry died on. And from the news reports I've heard it did'nt seem like this was too well planned if the group landed a mile away from the LZ and 300 yards out to sea.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
